Yes that's probably it.

I wasn't as #woke then as I am now, but looking back now, that was definitely an offense and he's paying for it.

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

I just wield it, there are other agents of magic out there.

I am just one who can summon the meme god; KEKU, and I do want a reboot, but not at the cost of more SadFleck.

Someone offered a sacrifice of tears, and it wasn't me.

Dear gaspar, can you pray so that we get a new freddy vs jason film?

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

I know there are various reasons BvS is considered a failure, but box office shouldn't be one of them. $800m+ worldwide is quite respectable, especially when the director is taking risks.

Yes, Bats and Supes are the top two superheroes, but look at their last reboots. BB and SR grossed much less, and the Nolanverse is considered superior.

I for one am happy with the Snyderverse.

spiderman 3 made like 900 million on a 250 million budget, still got rebooted

amazing spiderman 2 made 709 mill on a 290 budget still rebooted

both of these were big hits money wise. they were successful enough to continue each franchise. but the hate was strong enough to get the studio to back out

Matt Reeves Batman film

I think with ASM2 it was more about Marvel cutting a deal with Sony wasn't it? Up to that point we may still have gotten ASM3 (or at least Sinister Six).

Though I *did* read where Garfield got shafted for not turning up to a premiere. Still, it's petty to let politics get in the way of the good of the franchise.

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

they didn't reboot spiderman 3 because of bad critics. spiderman 4 was allready in process.

they rebooted it because of the dark knight huge success , they wanted to try the serious and dark tone of nolan.

amazing spiderman 2 was rebooted because kevin feige asked it .

no, that came out much later. first Andrew talked negatively about the movie and then they said plans were stopped then andrew was fired and THEN the marvel thing showed up

wrong,
raimi was never going to do spiderman again after he was forced to add venom to the movie.... he was never going to go ahead and then Andrew Garfield didnt want come back without Raimi...

Raimi was in talks for SM4. Laura Ziskin spoke of this in interviews. Vulture and Black Cat were going to be in it. In the end, Ziskin and SONY weren't clicking with Raimi and Tobey walked. Tobey's departure is what forced them to reboot.

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

I dont think raimi was ever going to do it. There might have been talks but no way he would done it

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

Same here.

I'd rather see the plug get pulled on the creatively comatose MCU.

I think the MCU is great also, just I'm biased towards Bats and Supes. Guess we all have baggage we bring to the conversation.

Of course the MCU has had its fair share of misfires too, they just tend to get overlooked (probably because there's been more hits than misses).
