Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

I dunno, if you read between the lines that Page Six article it seems like the dude hit a bump with his latest movie but is otherwise getting his **** together - why is having a detox-aide part of a downward spiral? That's some irresponsible "journalism."

He needs to direct a simple, cheap movie and get his mojo back.

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

As for nolan and batman

It is kinda weird how nolan went for batman after batman and robin. Kinda weird specially because no one respected batman movies at that point

Makes me wonder what made him choose that

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

Probably for that exact reason - someone had to right the ship.

TDK was the Batman movie I'd always wished for, but in retrospect the Nolanverse is a little too grounded in reality. I don't like the absence of metahumans.

The Snyderverse has that balance between realism and fantasy.

It didn't right the ship, Nolan tipped it too far to the other side

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

I can't wait to shut these pathetic people tearing apart Affleck and this film. Well I guess even a great Batman film won't do it- no matter what they will still be whining and attacking! :lol

Didn't like that either. Why I appreciate the realistic elements brought to the movie I missed the fantasy elements. Reason why I hate tdkr it was to "realistic " for me. Atleast tdk still tried to keep some elements of fantasy in place like with two face and jokers insanity.

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

I have always been quick to point out and defend the positives from BvS and SS while also taking great pleasure in milking that MOS tornado suicide for all it's worth. :lol

If Superman is corrected in JL you will then see the WB/Snyder complaints begin to wind down.

Lots of the negativity is focusssed on Superman's treatment, not Batman. Affleck is the one bringing negativity to Batman not the fans.

So until Superman has been fixed let those memes rip. :lol

Pretty sure after the first X-Men movie Nolan saw that superhero movies can be taken serious. He probably pitched the idea of making a grounded Batman movie, nothing like the films before it and also telling Batman origin which I don't believe had been done in live action yet.

Yeah because Blade 1 was a such a ton of cheese like Batman and Robin.

Ohhh pturtle you and your XMen. :lol

Blade isn't a mainstream character, not like the X-Men and Batman are. There's really no risks being taken by making an R rated vampire movie with a character most people probably didn't even know was a comic book character. Also Blade wasn't nearly as successful as the first X-Men movie critically and financially.

Because of X-Men, we got Spider-Man, Batman Begins, Hulk, Superman, Daredevil etc...

Speaking of Blade though, I'd love if somehow Fox got the rights and made a nice Old Man Blade movie with Wesley Snipes returning. Poor blade is rotting away at Marvel, and I don't really want to see anyone else in that role except for Wesley Snipes.

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

Blade 1 made 3.3 x its budget and X1 made 3.9 x its budget not so huge a difference.

It's rotting because Wesley is probably asking for too much money. :lol

It's only been back at Marvel for a year, no?

I would love to see him back before it's too late.

Maybe Netflix.

Uhm, yeah? Without the neon but yeah; It was 90's edge with vampires and blaxplotation, so what's your point Jye? :lol

X-men had real characters and it had real topics and setting that felt as real as Nolan's Batman so I could definitely buy that Nolan saw something in that.

There are people who actually believe the realistic CBM stuff started with Blade? :rotfl People back then didn't even know Blade was a comic book character.

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

Realistic? No

But it did bring back comic book movies after George Clooney killed them.

Re: Matt Reeves Batman film

Kung fu fighting sunglasses wearing vampire hunter with a hip hop techno soundtrack and stephen dorf. I'm not looking for realistic.
