Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

I hope you're right, but... Just imagine if you're wrong. :lol

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

It's gonna be a fantastic movie. Probably the best to come from the DCEU's proposed ventures given that it won't pander to the SJWs & Marvelites WW was clearly looking to impress.

Where WW became a reactionary movie to the bull**** hate for BvS, this will do it's own thing and virtually wipe it's ass with whatever new mandate the studio has for these movies.

And said R-rated, noir-heavy, auteuristic approach is the only reason Affleck didn't quit this franchise after the ridiculous creative reboot the DCEU underwent post-BvS.

I love this post.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

I guess Snikt was right because WB just announced to their wall street investors that effective immediately auteurs and not suits will decide how best to use their billions in investments.

The studio suits will only be responsible for the valet parking at their lot.

Matt Reeves was given 500 million for his auteur Batman vision and told not to worry if his vision bombs at the box office.

Man Snikt sure knows his ****

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Affleck and Geoff's original script is officially out the window.

https://batman-news.com/2017/07/12/matt-reeves-batman-scratch-new-story/

Reeves was a guest on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast and host Josh Horowitz asked if he was going to be working off of Ben Affleck and Geoff John’s original script. “No,” Reeves replied. “It’s a new story. It’s just starting again. I’m excited about it. I think it’s going to be really cool.”

That may be a good thing- Affleck walked away as director because I'm sure partly because he wasn't happy with the script as he has said before the script has to be just right or it won't be made...

He walked away cause DC/WB wasn't happy with HIS script. He said he wouldn't make the movie unless he's happy with the script. Why would he not like his own script that he wrote and prefer someone else's with which he had no input?? That doesn't make sense. If JL fails again with critics and fans, I wouldn't be too surprised if ole' Ben walks away completely and we have a new actor for the Batman movie. There have been rumors of this for months...

Just cause WW hit with fans and critics, doesn't mean JL will. For me JL still looks to be fail even with Whedon on board. To me everyone looks terrible other than WW. Even Batman's revamped costume looks dumb, and for no reason other than merchandising $$. The movie was pretty much already done other than some reshoots. And it'll no doubt be just as dark and dreary as MOS & BvS. I'm not looking forward to anything DC is doing, which is sad as I'm a DC fan and love Batman, Superman & Green Lantern.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

As long as Reeves is on board making a real movie, Affleck ain't going anywhere.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

I'm more of a Marvel fanboy and I don't want Affleck to quit. He was one of the best things about BvS and I've enjoyed his depiction of Batman and Bruce Wayne.

I want these movies to succeed. It's a nice contrast to the MCU (Light-hearted, colorful, humorous approach vs. dark, moody and mostly-serious), and plus, healthy competition drives the studios to make better movies.

How are the DC movies competition? :lol

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Don't think any comic book movie competes with others.

If you like the character or a comic book fan, you are going to watch them all.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

So whatever script is chosen the basic story is Batman fights Deathstroke, they both realise there's a bigger enemy in the Joker so whilst Batman fights the Joker, Deathstroke takes out Jonny Frost and the Joker's goons.

Well said! Totally agree!:clap

Didn't Jonny die in SS?
