Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

I'm honestly pretty pumped for this (might go for a round of pic changing...). I've been going over his filmography for a while now, and he really is good. And honestly, I like that they picked a "leaner" guy. I see people like Hammer being tossed around all the time, but... Batman's supposed to be a Ninja. I know people love the BatTank, who's 6'4"+, has muscles for days and you crap your pants just by looking at him, but that's not Batman. I liked Batfleck a whole lot as a one-off, but Batman was always about precision points, sneaking around, all that jazz. How the hell is a 6'4" (hell, isn't Hammer 6'6" ?) guy built like a quarterback going to sneak around and tiptoe? His canon height of 6'1" or 6'2" or whatever is just fine. I'm not saying he should be Nightwing Tier, he should still be a Big Guy and intimidating, just that he shouldn't be Bane. Moon Knight is the guy you want if you're looking for a violent giant who tanks knives to the chest and growls as he crushes your balls. Besides, Gotham is really gonna start asking questions in such a case. How many built and giant rich boys who are never available in the day are there?

Which brings me to my next point. I'd like to see a more solemn Bruce this time. I'm not really a fan when they go all "oh, that silly Bruce Wayne, partying and then dropping his dates" with his persona. I prefer the serious businessman angle, who can be charming, crack a joke and whatnot, but not the completely tryhard facade that comes off faker than a Chinese bootleg. And Pattinson does have that sort of face, that can pull off the "tortured poet". I'm legit looking forward to this.

As for villains and whatnot, I'd like an Eyes Wide Shut style film with the Court Of Owls, but we'll never get that, so... I'll make due with what we get.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Pattinson will be good, it's just another take on the batman character and I have faith in the director. Will this be the definitive batman for me? Probably not, but that's okay

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

By now Pattinson probably aged a little and gained some fats, cough, cough, muscles. He'll be fine, unlike that WW actress.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

I wouldn't mind this upcoming comic suit in the new film.

Always loved the yellow bat emblem

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

It’s basically the 89 batman suit tho isn’t it?

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

He's a good actor from what I've seen of him. Hopefully the writing will be good, and execs will continue to do their job of assigning good creative teams and then leaving them to their business for the most part. At least, I assume that's what happened with Wonder Woman (after changing out the initial director. . .) and Shazam.

Hilariously, today is also the day Ray Fisher and Ezra Miller's contracts apparently run out as well. Out with the old, in with the new...

The Cyborg on Doom Patrol is about 50 times better than the version from the JL movie. Of course, a big part of that might have to do with the fact that he has a lot of character development, and Doom Patrol is an amazing show while JL was a dumpster fire. But I think casting also plays a role. Guy in Doom Patrol isn't as moody as the Wolfman/Perez version. He's more an aspiring member of the Justice League, and has a built-in, adoring public. But he's really good and compelling. I don't think it will be hard recasting Fisher. Miller never screamed Flash to me, of any kind (i.e., Barry, Wally, Jay Garrick).
