I like rain and hope it rained in more movies :lol
Rain's fine. In small doses though. Me, I'm all about the sun.

But Batman's supposed to be dark and depressive, so it fits. I myself though would prefer less rain, more opressive darkness. Reading the reviews here, I think the sequel will be pretty special. I want to see RPat as a more "proper" Bruce Wayne. I wonder who's going to be his new waifu. Hell, I'm actually looking forward to Sopranos: Pingu Edition too.

"Salmon? 'OVA 'ERE!"

I agree with JAWS his precise eye movements truly makes him the best Batman it never got old watching him do his thing.

The best Batmobile chase yet and I love the BB Tumbler chase.

Crazy how much WB gave away in the trailers and initial set pics but that’s WB for you lol

The "parting of the Red Sea" moment didn't go unnoticed lol. Very Biblical moment. Just takes some adjusting to a very hands on, ground floor, personal Batman.

Reeves mentioned Batman 66 more than the other Batman films in his interviews. Batman 66 was very much working next to law enforcement, helping people.

It goes a long way understanding that compared to all the recent Batman films.

Ok let me bring up the 3rd act elephant in the room that ONE BIG thing that i’m having trouble reconciling with the one thing that hurts the movie for me.

Ok here goes…

I do NOT LIKE
that they gave us a JL Batman already at only year 2! Vengeance was gone he literally says it at the end while carrying a kid which is a job for a fireman, ems or police NOT freaking Batman at year 2 leave that menial work for regular menial people lol

He freaking replaced vengeance with daylight public safety duties :slap

Ok I feel better now that I got that off my chest lol

There is no reconciliation with that!

Don’t even try JAWS it ain’t gonna work lol

Baleman was looking to retire by year 2. :lol

I'm just glad the term "white privilege" made it into a Batman movie and that only white males can truly be evil.

Wor will be happy.
Racist DC continues barring POCs from positions of evilness. Meanwhile Based Marvel is an equal opportunity employer.

Normalise being evil and stop gatekeeping it, you stupid straight cishet huwhite males!

From what I'm getting here, the eye scenes from Patbat seems to be a focus. I guess we're not getting a Batman without eye pupils any time soon then. That's one thing I want them to do for the movies.

Now had time to do a snapshot review after my midnight screening earlier today.

Finally. After two and a half years. Feels surreal to have now seen it. What a perfect viewing experience.

The Batman film I’ve been waiting for all my life; Pattinson is perfection; nailing the voice and dynamics of Batman and Bruce Wayne. Zoe Kravitz is astonishing, giving the strong empowered Selina Kyle we deserve whilst also channeling so much warmth and emotion, which in turn leads to spectacular chemistry with Pattinson. Paul Dano is truly terrifying, especially under Matt Reeves’ direction.

The entire cast, (and I do include the also terrifying Batmobile in that), is stellar with no weak link in the chain and, at an impressive 3 hour run time, the film is superbly paced, and flies by in the blink of an eye.

Guided by gorgeous lingering cinematography over a rain soaked claustrophobic Gotham plucked straight from the comics and matched with a perfect score, that simultaneously merges Elfman and BTAS tones, whilst also being something entirely new and fresh.

In summary; a bold, intelligent and uncompromising neo-noir detective driven Batman that will go down in history as a modern classic, reimagining Batman for generations however being more true to source than ever before.
I've just got back from seeing it. I fully agree with you.

So much to take in during one viewing. It's going to take multiple viewings to fully appreciate everything going on.

You're upset he helped people after a terrorist attack? Really?

This may be my favorite Batman movie, I love Batman Begins so much, but this was terrific. TDK is probably below Batman in my ranking at this point. A lot of that movie has worn off on rewatches.

If he was
JL Batman NO I wouldn’t be upset BUT he’s not JL Batman nowhere near it yet he’s year 2 Batman who is focussed on fear, shadow and vengeance and NOT doing the job any person can do in broad daylight no less! :slap

You do like solo non Super Friends Batman right lol

You understand this isn't a comic book and is it's own movie universe right? Stop comparing it to them.
