Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

Yup, Baleman "threw" him twice and saved him. I'd be like, "You're going to kill me or keep spiting on me?" :lol

Reminds me of, "Or perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man, before throwing him out of a plane?" Empty threat.

:lol :lol

See but you're overlooking the fact that Flass knew being obese meant that the cable could break at any moment so his life was in very real danger afterall.

He looked at the thin gauge wire Batman was using and realized that fat man falling was not a good thing.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

Perhaps he's wondering why someone would write a scene with visual threats when everyone is blindfolded.

He didn't write so good.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

I have no problem with Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Begins (other than his rubber maid kitchen gloves). In fact I think that's his best performance as the character.

Had that been his only movie, I would probably view him as the best film interpretation of the character.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

I wouldnt say they do anything "far" better. Maybe two great action sequences (Nightcrawler and Quicksilver) and drama is super muddled by bad continuity, mediocre writing. But to each their own. I think TWS/CW together own every element over the entire x-series.

Sheesh, you think MCU movies do drama well?

X2 alone has 3 great action sequences, the mansion invasion where we get the best Wolverine scene to date, Magneto's escape from the plastic prison, and Nightcrawler's opening scene.

You're right it's all subjective but I can't see what's mediocre about the writing in X2 there wasn't any real continuity issues in that movie. DOFP and FC definitely have continuity issues though.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

Bale's greatest moment in the trilogy is his TDKR convo with Alfred in the halls of Wayne Manor.

The level of acting from both Bale and Caine in that scene alone obliterates every performance in the MCU.

Insert sadffleck here. :lol

I was laughin' at the whole thing durin' my big screen watch.
It had very little build up and felt overdramatic.

Batman was like, "You weigh a little more than 108"

Kitchen scene is effective, nothing special about anything after that imo. Magneto's escape is barely a scene iirc.

Yes, the drama in TWS and CW was very effective to me. I can't think of any drama in the x-movies that was any more than plot service. Wolverine's story is drawn out and obvious, Jean Grey's is vague and poorly ended, Cyclops is barely one-dimensional, Rogue has a weird freakout because...she flies a plane for a minute? Nightcrawler is sympathetic. :dunno

"I berried enouwgh of da Weybe family. Wat if, b4 she died . . . she wrote a letta. A letta sayin' she chose havey dent ova u. Wat if I . . . burnt dat letta. I have luved u since I first heard yo cries echo thru did house."

Two characters getting weepy doesn't automatically mean a master class in acting. That cheesy, wordy scene is right up there with John Bloke telling Bruce he knew Bruce was Batman. Alfred leaving Bruce at that point is one of the silliest moments in the movie. Especially when this dude never gave up on Bruce before ("nevah").

Bale's best scene is during the training sequence with Liam Neeson and the monestary in my opinion. His stuff as college aged Bruce in the flashbacks is good too.

Yeah, my concept of good acting is very different from yours.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

I was ok with Alfred living Bruce. It was 9 years in the making, if you look at the 3 films from Alfred's POV.

He didn't want him to be Batman.

The only way to get Bruce to realize this was to provide him with a dramatic example, thus he left.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

Hated almost everything about tdkr. What a crap movie. Nothing in that movie felt like batman to me. Absolutely nothing.
