Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

We also saw Hulk and Elektra team up once.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

You could actually make a fun game out of that.

"In what movie did Batman's daughter, Gwen Stacy, have sexual intercourse with the incredible Hulk?"

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

In the form of a question and everything, impressive. 10 points Gryffindor!

I saw that thing. And weirdly I was just reading some clickbait that quoted the Muffalo stating how he was sad that Elektra stopped talking to him because Batman didn't like her talking to other heroes with weiners.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

My take: The Nolan Bat-films were as close as you're going to get to "great" traditional comic movies, IMO. . .along with the Singer and Vaughn X-Men films :chase . MCU are "popcorn movies," but they work extremely well on that level. The current slate of WB movies are pitiful and not hardly worth watching.

No need to run my friend, Singer and Vaughn's X-Men flicks are indeed great.

I think Donner's First Superman and the Donner Cut of the sequel are great as well.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

Best superhero movie for me goes to TDK.

Honorable mentions goes to:

STM1/2, Batman 89, Batman Returns, Spiderman 1, Spiderman 2, BB, Blade 1, X2, XFC, DOFP, IM 1, Thor 1, Avengers, TFA, TWS, CW.

There, done.

According to Variety, Matt Reeves has the director's seat for this.....

I think the single greatest scene in a superhero movie goes to the Joker interrogation in TDK but best movie overall from beginning to end is Batman Begins.

Best trilogy from beginning to end goes to Captain America.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

I would agree with BB if not for that 3rd act.

That interrogation scene truly is a hair raising eye opener, I remember the silence in the theater during that scene which was the complete opposite of the yelling and fist pumping when Hulk smashed Loki, but both had their intended effect.

This is all that i'm trying to convey to the MCU haters, it's that seeing those group of heroes on the screen working together with their high quality fight choreography and above average action set pieces gives me the same thrills as I get from that super intense interrogation scene from TDK, that's all.

Same with the BvS warehouse scene so it's not just a Marvel thing. :lol

X-Men movies have no such scenes, lots of sleeping though lol

(I added Spiderman 1/2 to my honorable mentions list, how could I forget those :slap)

X-Men movies lull you into sleepmode so that it's relatively exciting when a guy runs fast to a song.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

I'll take X1,X2, First Class, and DOFP over most MCU movies, but I still give the MCU credit for creating a large interconnected universe that pays off with films like the Avengers, and the fact that the MCU is not only exploring other worlds, dimensions, but also the the cosmos, and before X Men and DC did it, it's impressive.

Oh and X Men Apocalypse >>> IM2, Thor 2, and Hulk.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

X-men movies are a snore to me.

DC doesn't even count yet. They walked away from the only thing they had going -- Nolan's Batman.

But even the Nolan Bats is stilted to me and overly CSI-serious. It's grounded reality makes me question the need for a cape and many other things. But Nolan's (and Heath's) Joker transcends that trilogy and really transported TDK to a whole other level. Far superior villain than anything the MCU has dished out. No Marvel villain comes close to Ledger's totally unique Joker. But then DC "re-imagined" that character too.

Re: Ben Affleck Batman film

100% correct about TDK Joker.

But take your stinking paws off the CSI-ness of the movie, you damn dirty ape!

Don't you know that you're desecrating true visionary art! :lol

The only problem with the interrogation scene is Batman himself.

Probably another reason I like BB the best. It seems the least embarrassed about its superhero trappings and Bruce's cape and cowl fit in nicely with the LoS's silly microwave emitter and "you must become a terrible thought" ideology.
