Why can't Sideshow make a 1/6 Batman? I bet they could make an awesome Bale likeness.

Pjam that is a nice collection you are putting together. And that is a beautiful Robin. Les did a fantastic paint job.
Justin DCD has the Bat, Super and all other DC hero licenses to themselves. I doubt they would import something that is superior to their 13'' line either.

1) I meant Gay Bar... 2) My wife thinks I sometimes act like I am ten... and 3) I didn't mean to imply anything about your collection other than the fact the I could see Batmans nipples...

I play nice... come on now. I own a mego Robin so don't think I was being cheeky or anything with you.

EDIT:

oh yeah... ps I am sorry. for the misspelled terribly homophobic remark. Now tell us what other BATMAN figures you have. :)

Oh, so Superheros with nipples are gay? I didn't know gay guys had nipples too! :D Still don't get the joke but thanks for your PM and your response, I know you mean well and you're a good guy.

As I said, no worries, rock on Pixletwin. :rock2

ps: I have NO other Batman figures right now, just a 12" British LE Soakie Kilmer Batman Forever which is a fairly cool sculpt and my HT BB on the way. I had a Sovereign Studios Keaton 89 but ended up selling it because of its limited poseability, no head articulation, still looking for the nextgen custom Keaton...

Pjam, can you point me towards the customizer that did that Batmobile? That is awesome. It isn't based on the horribly undersized injection molded plastic one that came out a few years ago is it?

No problem Dave, I'll PM you with all the info you'll need. It's a lot of work for the customizer but definitely worth it. He literally sands and buffs out the kit first before painting much like an actual car restoration...

I don't know what undersized model you are referring to but the only one made to fit sixth scale figures is the joemobile which you can purchase at Village Comics in NY for like 125 or online from them on eBay cheaper...

the joemobile does fit sixth scale figures, I recently referred the manager of art of toy to giink who rush ordered a custom Batmobile and displayed it with his figs at a japanese toy convention in june...

... at least I think it fit them! I'll call the dude to confirm tomorrrow.

The joemobile is what I'm referring to. It's about 18" short to be in scale at 1:6, but does fit 1:6 figures. I picked it up for about $125 many years ago. Is your Batmobile based on that?

Yes. I think the wheel base is around 28/30" the car is obviously longer, probably 33", almost three feet so 3 times longer than the actual figures which doesn't seem that short to me but may not be in actual 1/6 scale, I really don't know...

so based on this you are talking about a car that would be 51 inches, that's 4.25 ft long! I needed to wrap my head around this scale thing so I placed a 12" fig in seated position against my tv screen which is 27" wide, TV is ttl 32" wide and dude, this 33" car is huge, it really swallowed the scale of the fig so I don't really think I would want anything much bigger...

I'll call Robin at Artoftoy tomorrow and ask how his display car showed at the japan fair, I'm sure he has pics with his figs in it...

In any event, this is the only way to do this without going flat-out one of a kind one-off custom which would cost in the thousands of dollars...

Okay, I exaggerated. An in-scale 1/6 Batmobile would be 37.5" long or a little over 3 feet. The joemobile is a little under 2 feet isn't it?

Correction: My joemobile kit is about 29", about 2.5 feet, again that's wider than my TV screen and plenty big for my figs...

Then how can Takara, Hot Toys, and Medicom make their own versions?

I gotta tell ya bro, the detailing on the outfit, weaponry and accessories (headset) are absolutely sick, I have never seen anything like it and that's what sold me on HT quality.

wait till you see the BB weapons and belt, you are gonna censored smiles...

btw, HT LAPD Swat figs sell for $200 now on Ebay...

I see one on Ebay for $49.99 at the moment. It has a helmet with a broken chinstrap, however. Is that the same one?

Cause they are ment to be sold in the Eastern markets. They just get imported over here by vendors.

That looks like a 3.0 version, the newest release. I was talking about HT LAPD SWAT 2.0 going for 200. I have the original LAPD SWAT Keanu Reeves Speed figure which was an Asian Toy Fair LE I think. Basically I was referring to the HT detail and yes, it is the same detail in weapons and outfit in that one on ebay too.

I spoke to robin @ artoftoy yesterday, he showcased his giink 1/6 batmobile with his figs at the june japan toy fair and it was a hit, in fact he said he received a few order requests from japanese collectors to buy one...

I asked him quite a few questions and basically he said the figures do fit in the car. The actual scale of the 1/6 joemobile car is slightly off, perhaps it is more true to a 1/7 scale instead of 1/6 but doesn't detract from the overall appeal and look of the car, he also said the front windshield half bubbles could be bigger... so there you go

I just checked, HT Batman Begins is "Out of Stock". They must be getting them ready to go.

Still no shipping notice for me! I was hoping to have a tracking number by now. :monkey2

You'll get it very soon, they are shipping from Ontario so even though some haven't received their notices, they mat get them delivered before others who live farther away (like California, gulp!)

ps new HT BB thread started....

What shipping service do they use? There was a number on the shipping list, so I guess that is a tracking.
