I would have to go with the Hot Toys version. The height is better. The detail on the belt and armor is better. The face sculpt...ehhh...I can't decide. Lastly, the price on the Hot Toys version is likely to be better than the Medicom.

While I've never actually held a Medicom in my hands (with the exception of a Stormtrooper...but that's a pretty bland figure regardless of who makes it), I'd have to agree that they are overrated and way too expensive. Just seeing the side-by-side pictures of Jedi Knight Luke proves that. Medicom looks like a frickin' toy!!!

I'm pleased with the Medicom I have, but I can't wait to add both the Hot Toys and Takara versions to the collection as well.

Thanks for the link. I had a chance to read it, and I'm even more convinced now that the Medicom Batman is a waste of money. And that cape is way too big!!!

I prefer the HT Batman. The headsculpt looks better, the belt has nicer detail, the cod piece looks better and more accurate, the batsymbol isn't matted like the rest of the outfit, the transition from the gauntlets to the hands looks much better, and the cowl looks better (the ears on the medicom looks off to me). Plus I think the HT will have better accesories and it will fit in line with my other 12ers height wise. I can't imagine at this point in time that the Takara will look any better. From the pics I have seen, the cowl on the Takara isn't accurate. I am definitely getting the HT Batman and Superman. Medicom use to be the standard by which all other 12ers were measured back in the day, then SSC stepped in and now HT. Now is a great time to be a 12in collector!!!

Yeah, the HT Batman is far superior in my mind. Just a lot more detail and better paint apps. If I were to get anything, that would be the one.

I've just never been happy with Medicom or anything they've put out so far... Not to say it's a bad company, I've just not been impressed.

The Medicom Batman figure is actually pretty nice. It is short, I don't know why they didn't use the same almost 12" figure they did for Spidey and Vader and instead chose the 11" inch body. But I guess they had thier reason. I think it was a mistake. But this figure is not a peace of junk. It's really very well done.
I haven't seen the Hot Toys or Takara yet but I do have the Takara on order from HLJ because it looked great in the photo's. I haven't placed an order yet for the Hot Toys Batman and Superman yet but I imagine I will. Who am I kidding, I'm sure I will. The HT Superman definately looks like the cream of the crop although I do have the DCD 13" on order also. I think it looks pretty good also, just too tall and it won't have the detail work put into the much more expensive HT figure.
Maybe if Medicom and DCD could get together they'ed make a 1/6th figure instead of an approx. 1/6.5 and 1/5.5 respectively.

I haven't put all my Medicom side by side, but it seems that they use the smaller body for movie based figures. Rocketeer, movie Spidey, Batman, Luke -are all on the same body I think. I know movie Spidey is smaller than comic Spidey at least.

I think you're right there, DD. They're all the same body, look at their first release Darth, great piece but it's too small too!

Overall HT detail is superior, check out the mask, ears, etc, the faces look fairly similar to me so HT wins my order, but they're both far better than Med.
