WELL! I certainly hope you all are happy! After my disappointment with the awful DC DIRECT BATMAN BEGINS figure, I had written off getting a nice 1/6 (or thereabouts) BB figure. After this thread, though, I have pre-ordered the Takara BB (Big Bad Toystore), as well as the Hot Toys BB and Superman Returns figs (Toy Square). I was so caught up in Batman hysteria, I even broke down and ordered a Medicom BB figure (don't worry, I got a good price!). Now, I'll have 4 Batman Begins figures of varying quality to display!

I hadn't noticed the Takara has a cut neck joint. He'll be more posable I'm sure at the cost of the HT having a more accurate look. I'm looking forward to both - especially if the BB and SR from HT are coming in June.

Well I bit the bullet and pre-ordered the HT Batman begins.

Me too DR, I've decided to go with HT. I don't like the neck cut on Takara, HT's neck and cowl articulate as one piece instead Takara's Linda Blair effect, turning a head on a plate as it were. And the HT head may have a joint for tilting as well knowing HT, plus the belt and weaponry are excellent.

With Tak, you get the better face and expression, extra Bale head and maybe a training harness, rubber leggings which do look really cool, both great pieces but the look of the complete Head and cowl clinched it for me.

C'mon, Dave, who ya kidding ? We know you'll get both ! But who am I to talk, I've pre-ordered both as well, and I already have the crappy DC DIRECT & Medicom (which I just got for a good price).

Oh yeah, me too; I've also pre-ordered the HT SUPERMAN RETURNS and the Medicom ROCKETEER V2 ( I have the first one, but the addition of the mauser & increased poseability of the head sold me on the re-release). I just received the Medicom Batman Begins, and I think it's gotten an unfair rap; it is worlds better than the DCD, and the costuming is excellent. Issues of scale aside, I think it was well worth the price I paid.

Doesn't look photoshopped to me, but it does look a bit "boyish", like Bale is 17. He was quite beefed up for the part and this sculpt doesn't reflect that at all.

Here is a pic of the HT PMC body and Bearded "Bale" head, quite a difference, don't you think?

I do think the HT Bale sculpt is a bit sharper, but since it doesn't come with the Batman figure it's kind of a moot point.
