I want a TV that will handle both 3D and 4K. I know they can't together, but I want one that can play both.

I meant by together was 4k 3D.....but I'm glad I can get one that you can play both on it. Just need two separate disc players though, right?

Unfortunately no 4K 3D movies will exist at this moment in time, was not part of the 4K consortium specs.

Regarding the player, most 4K players will also play 1080p 3D.

I'll tell you what, 4K roll out has been very soft, won't really pick up steam until holiday 2016 or even 2017, hopefully Sony finally announces their PS4K model at E3!

I'm in need of another blu ray player but am trying to hold out for the PS4K. It'll be around the same price as the current stand alone UHD players I'd imagine, if not as high as $500. I'd still buy it for that though.

I'm praying GameStop does some sort of trade up offer. I'd rather do that. Hopefully with either a 1 or 2 TB HDD.

This former hardcore gamer (SNES, Sega Genesis, Gameboy, Playstation, Sega Saturn, N64, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy SP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, 3DS, Wii...I think that's all of them) hasn't played games in years, or followed the news...PS4K? I'm in.

Was going to try and pick up a PS4 for the upcoming Uncharted release, but I may just wait.

It only has happened recently. Like the last 2 weeks or so. Apparently it is rumored and speculated that Sony will be announcing a PS4 system with 4k capabilities. Not gaming though. Seems that's still a long way from happening. So they are calling it the PS4.5 or PS4K.

Along with that, Microsoft is reportedly doing the same and is rumored. Neither company has really commented. So we are waiting for E3 to see if it's true.

I have a pre-order coming up that I'll already have to double dip on. I'm getting the steelbook, but it just contains a Blu-ray. Now I need either the 3D or the 4K edition. Which should I get because I'm not triple dipping.

Id say go for the 3D. But it really depends on the movie tbh.

It depends if you are certain you will be buying a 4K TV within the next 12-24 months.

I'm a nut case so I buy the 3D AND 4K version when it's a movie I feel strongly about the 3D!

When I say 3D version obviously i'm referring to the 1080p version.

Well the 4k is bound to drop eventually and it's not like it has a limited slip or cover or whatever. I'd even try and get the disc by itself on ebay.
