Probably won't be long before you can either go to the theater or steam a new movie for $19.99 at home......although they'd lose money to viewing parties so maybe not.

It cost me $15 total yesterday to see ST:Beyond with popcorn and a drink.

My biggest problem with the cost now is the popcorn sucks and AMC theaters don't have Pepsi. I love the popcorn/Pepsi combo. Not sure what changed because movie theater popcorn used to be really good. It might just be AMC, but that seems to be who owns most the theaters anymore.

I'd love a way to watch movies at home while they are in theaters. I'm trying to find a way...

AMC (China) bought out our Carmike theaters. I usually go to the Cinemark when I can. It's cheaper and their popcorn is pretty good, though I don't get that butter stuff on mine. BLAH!

I like the big screen experience myself.

I get a better audio and video experience at home nowadays. I hope no one builds a home theater to save money on going out...I could never buy enough tickets to make back what I've paid for my home theater equipment, but it's totally worth it IMO. Early August will be very exciting for me. I have new seating, subs, and screen coming.

That article mentions that AMC will soon be acquiring Carmike Cinemas, but in my area, AMC was blocked from purchasing Carmike over monopoly concerns. Where I live, Carmike is popular for their $5 movies before 5 p.m., if you want to see a $5 movie at AMC, you need to go to the very first showing, usually around 9 a.m.

From what I understand it's a go. I don't see how they can block it if the chain was bought. I would love for it fall through.

Does anyone know the USA MCU steelbook releases? I hadn't know there was a TWS one, until now. I remember seeing a lot of import ones for the previous ones, but I was just double checking. I missed out on GotG, but managed to score from then on.

I'm pretty sure the first MCU US only release was Thor: The Dark World. All were Best Buy exclusives.

Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Antman
Captain America: Civil War

I missed out on steels for Winter Soldier, GOTG, and Age of Ultron (my brother has the AOU steel...I keep trying to get him to trade me his steel book for the regular 3D). AOU is still available on Best Buy's website, but I can't justify paying $39.99 for it. I should have gotten another BvS steel book to use as trade bait.

I think it's pretty safe to assume after CW, all remaining MCU movies will get the steel book treatment.

Yeah, I was able to snag the last copy of The Dark World when it came out.

As far as other Marvel movies (but not MCU), there was a Target exclusive for X-Men: Days of Future Past, and of course, Deadpool. And there were reissues of all the X-Men universe films.

As far as DC Universe films, The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel and BvS were given the steel book treatment, and Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were given steel book reissues.

A lot of those import steel books look really nice, but I honestly don't want to open that Pandora's Box...

Neither do I. I'm gonna stick with MCU and DCU for now. Deadpool is my only Fox steel. Doubt I'll do it for X-Men.

Imports look nice, but my next set I'm going for are Studio Ghibli films and a few Disney onea.
