My Bodyguard? The one with Matt Dillon? Holy crap that literally has to be the first time in history that anyone has ever casually slipped that film into common conversation, lol.
I'd say yes, (not about meatballs) because these films were originally shown in a format that is still superior to 4K.When it comes to classic catalog titles I struggle perpetually with what exactly are the end results i’m looking for.
Modern movies by all means please make them sharp looking for me.
But do want my movies from the 1950’s to 1990’s to look pristine and super sharp or do I want them no sharper than 1080p or in some cases where sci-fi/horror is involved no sharper than 480p.
Do I want to preserve the low tech aesthetics from the era where they came from or do I need an authentic grindhouse kung fu movie to be 8K HDR to show details that were previously hidden?
Do I need Bill Murray’s Meatballs or My Bodyguard in era authentic 480p or modern 8K?
I don’t know lol

Obviously, not every movie will sell in 4K, but I believe the ones I mentioned certainly would.
Run of the mill TV can peak at 1080p, and that's fine. That's the highest definition 99% of us watched it in.

Looked it up, never realized that was Adam Baldwin!
Or is it different Baldwin?

I'll still get physical copies of my favorite films just for the sake of having something tangible to collect and in case something wonky happens with "the cloud." But if digital is the best way to view the actual film then yeah I'll just hit the button rather than grabbing the disc.
I'll buy a physical copy of Alita one day but no rush for now.
With audio I actually prefer the original release audio but video yes a snob lol

Since they're saying SMFFH is part of the Infinity Saga that means they won't announce a box set until at least the SMFFH blu-ray has been on shelves a few weeks in order to milk the double dippers.
I wonder if next summer would be too soon.
Don't you think they'll hold off on even announcing the IS box set until after SMFFH has been out a while? If the box set gets announced soon for a Christmas release then a lot of people will just pass on individual SMFFH. Don't get me wrong I want the box set yesterday but I'm just trying to brace myself for a wait, lol.
Double posting this so nobody misses out...
Disney Movie Rewards has a big sale going on. I only looked through Blu Ray's and movie posters, but the discounts are significant. I bought a few 3D blu rays...
Planes 3D is normally 2250 points, on sale for 450
The Good Dinosaur 3D is normally 2000 points, on sale for 800
Jungle Book and Inside Out, both normally 2000 points, are now 1200.
There are more, but those are the ones I bought.
Good deal, especially considering you'll get 200 points for each when you register the discs

Saw that the other day, but couldn't get art to load, so I wasn't sure if it was legitimate. All 10 SW flicks supposedly getting new blu-ray releases with matching packaging next month (leaked cover art below). And then after TROS it's rumored that they'll all hit 4K (with TROS) in the spring.
Yeah, thought of that. No crystal ball, so what can you do.Damn it I just used 2k points on JB!
Thanks for the heads up
My sister works for them and she couldn’t even tell me lol

Normally I only use my points for movie posters, but I couldn't let this slip by.
With my luck, they'll have the TROS poster before I can generate enough points.
Would never have bought Planes 3D, but it was so cheap I couldn't resist. Hopefully my 4 year old will like it.
I dropped a lot of points, hopefully I don't regret it.

Well, I'll get 200 points when I redeem it, making the cost 250 points. If it entertains my 4 year old once or twice, it'll be worth it.Planes did you say....did I hear Planes?
That’s the signpost up ahead your next stop, the regret zone!
