Oh my this was masterful. Well done. End the thread. Nothing will top this. Now I feel bad about still contemplating to get the new Hot Toys Boba Two Pack. :lol

Oh read it, you will love it.
It was a joke. I read most of it. Kostis is known for the epic posts and multiversal language.

You give this board a +10 intelligence. Making Fett a clone was a terrible decision. Selling to Disney also was a terrible decision. What, his kids didn't want to take it over?
They were pretty terrible decisions, yes. Lucas was losing it with the PT. There's still soul and care in it, but he needed reigning in. And that's why I can excuse the dumb **** a bit; the man poured his heart into it. Oh yeah, he did it for the merch and the money too, but he did care. You know he cared because he disregarded the EU and he threw a hissy fit over Mara Jade over "not muh"; that was all genuine. Faulty as the PT was, it tried new things. Designs, ships, locations, lore, add-ons galore. Questionable choices yes. I more or less grew up with the PT and still would've preferred someone more like Fassbender's Magneto as a Anakin instead of what we got. I get what Lucas was going for, and by recognising the heart behind it, I'm able to give it leeway. But cashgrabs, pure, unfiltered moneygrabbers, I can never forgive.

As for his kids, who knows. Maybe he wanted to be free of it all. Maybe he saw the wind changing and was afraid the big corps would try to strongarm him until he sold. The corporate world is a ****** up place.

I can think of better ways to spend the same money. If Boba was a fanfavourite of mine and thought the costume looked cool, despite the lackluster show, I'd still get it. I'd just divorce the design from the serial. I'll probably get an HT Grievous at some point. I'll disregard the ROTS/CW canon and pretend he's GenndyWars Grievous. Same logic would go for Boba if I were a big fan. But even SW, I prefer someone like Kir Kanos to him, so...

Unless he's a Top 10 character, an essential part of your display... eh. The twopack costs 500€, minus shipping and taxes, for me. That's quite a bit. 2022 is packed. Kenobi, Batman, DS2, BP2; lots of figures coming. Plan things out a bit. I've set new rules myself. I'm trying to keep it restrained. Only the favourites. Only specifif displays. No wasted slots. Every figure must have a story. For example I'm trimming my NWH needs to just a Tobey-Man, maybe a Goblin. After I get a Joker I'm done with TDK. Battinson I might even skip until a sequel. Such things. I received my Thanos today, and while impressive, all that money for essentially a plastic toy did ring a tad hollow. Still, he's one of my favourites and I scored a relatively nice deal (I ended up paying more in taxes and shipping than for the actual figure) so I don't feel bad. But I'm not going to run around getting filler figures just because. It defeats the entire purpose of this hobby. I'm focusing on DS2, kenobi, and will try to swing the DW 4-Pack.

Is Boba going to have some kind of romance with that alien chick with the weird head?

What about Fennec? She needs love too. :sneaky:
Fennec's cooler than Boba. And hotter. Hear that Twitter? The POC woman is better than the POC man, signed by a a filthy gatekeeping, ugly ******* nerdoid. YAAAAAAAASSSSS KWEEEEEEEEEN SLAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!

I’ve realized there are two types of people watching this show.

Now don’t take this the wrong way, I don’t mean this as a knock/slight or “I’m better than you.”

There are fans who mindlessly consume and don’t care about logic or how characters were established in the past. They simply want to watch and enjoy a show. They don’t care that there is no evidence given for Boba Tusken or the illogical elements of the show. They just don’t think about it, push it aside, and simply like the show. Sometimes I wish I was in this camp.

Then there are fans who critic everything and do care about logic, do care about an established past, and do care about thoughtful growth and change of a character. They want the character to act as they have in the past. And if they change and don’t follow through with the faithful representation, they want to understand that change and have it explained on screen.

Basically those that don’t care too much vs those who care too much.

Believe me, I want to love this show. My mind just doesn’t allow me to at the moment.

You forgot the fans who criticize the new because it doesn’t fit in their head canon despite the show logically showing that it does.

The casual fans watching cause it’s Star Wars.

The young fans who only really know the sequel trilogy and the Disney+ shows and love them all

The nothing new is good only the originals are good crowd.

Amd a lot of others in between.

You know what they all have in common ? They are all fans of Star Wars and none of them are superior then the other.

I don't think you can put that any better about this show. People take it and think it's gold but they cannot support their claims. The people who rip it give plenty of examples why it sucks.
Actually the people who like it have supported their claims, just as the people who rip it have. Difference being you only agree with one side so you only see the one side.

Unfortunately, the "good" part of the episode is all the flashbacks and we all know where he ends up after that.

The "bad" part of the episode is what I wanted to see, but it's been bad. I can't deny it, both one and two have been really, really bad as far as what's going on in "current day" Mos Epsa.

It seems like the writers are putting a hell of a lot more effort into the flashbacks. If that's what they wanted to do, they should have just done that and had the show in chronological order. But then people would whine and ***** that Boba isn't in the armor or the helmet for the entire episode.

The result is that the "main" part of the story, the bait they used to hook us all in with that teaser, is just coming off as a poorly executed after-thought.

For real, that Mayor's Aide has gotta go.
The Mayor's aide reminds of Matt Frewer as Max Headroom. Really has to go.

Actually the people who like it have supported their claims, just as the people who rip it have. Difference being you only agree with one side so you only see the one side.
But my side is the correct side. I'm dug in for the long haul!

Eh I say still get the two pack, no need to feel bad about that. Fett still made a much better cameo in The Mandalorian and the figures themselves look great. I'm getting it and will mostly just pretend the Fett show never happened. But if you pass because the BOBF sucks I can't say I blame you.

I like the show and don't plan on giving up on it...but, it definitely isn't what I originally envisioned or hoped for. With only 7 episodes (some with fairly short run times), I was really hoping for at least a big wow moment by now. The back story is necessary and interesting but is a little too drawn out and the best BF moments we've had so far was in Season 2 of Mando IMO.

Oh, and what the hell is the deal with Star Wars and train heists in recent years? :lol
Well at least they didn't steal it from Dune. :monkey3

Ok, so I decided to watch it even after reading everyone's posts in here and I expected to hate it as much as the 1st episode. While it wasn't great and still had many issues, I don't think story wise it was terrible. At least it seems to be attempting to answer questions as to who Boba is becoming and why his change of heart.

Not sure if I read into something others didn't, but the Lizard up the nose seemed to bring him on a spiritual journey. And in that journey we saw him as a kid. And it seemed as a kid he was sad and lonely. His father always leaving him behind on Kamino while going on his missions/bounties or whatever. Never bringing Boba along. They, especially Boba, lived a life of solitude. And his future would be the same as daddy Jango's if he followed his path. So, the breaking of the staff was him breaking the mold his father set before him. To embrace his own path and find his own way. A future maybe where he wouldn't be alone. Thus why he saves Fennec, and saves the lives of others. Why he no longer wants to fight 1st or be feared. But rather be respected. This new journey began when he was inside the Sarlac.

I don't know. Still a bit messy. But, at least I maybe see why he is no longer the feared bounty hunter he once was and no longer wants to be. Now, that doesn't mean I like it. I would've rather seen a bad *** Boba, but this is Disney after all. Can't have the kiddies idolizing the antiheroes and bad guys.
