You have to admire the attention to detail in the script. These kids have NO jobs and have to steal water, yet can afford to not only own but pimp out their flying Norelcos. And apparently garage them as well, judging by the flawless paint and gleaming chrome. JFC, there’s simply no way they should look like that in such a harsh environment unless they were just ridden off the showroom floor. :slap
Yep and you also have to love the fact that Fett doesn't inquire of *any other details* other than apparently assuming the water broker was crippling the town by charging 1300 credits a glass. The broker said that the kids were "raiding his inventory," what if they had cleared out his entire warehouse?? Living large (ie sparkling brand new bikes and clothes) while his entire livelihood was crumbling. But no Fett was all "what 1300 credits a glass that's outrageous, on Kamino water was a penny a gallon so lower your prices or leave town." :duh

So fans are still rooting for Boba to bang Fennec? :lol

I want them to build up to it. Some flirting and sassy banter before they get together. I would hate for a new episode to show Boba Fett getting out of bed and Fennec already there with him, implying the obvious.

Having said that, I don't think this Boba Fett is capable of closing that deal either. He'll probably walk up to Fennec's room and if her door is locked, he'll just walk right back to his room, get in his tank, and go back to dreaming about Tusken boys.

A new BoBF episode tomorrow and it's really odd. On one hand, I don't want to watch it. I wouldn't go as far to say that I "dread" to see what embarrassing nonsense they inflict on us and the character I've loved since a kid but I do put my head in my hands and question whether I really want to witness it.
On the other hand, how can I not watch the car crash continue?
Of course, I still have (somehow) hope that the last 4 episodes will redeem the series and be fantastic.
I'm not yet at the point I can watch it and laugh and enjoy it as the "Boba meets the Banana Splits" show it is.

I am definitely dreading it.

I have to watch it. But I'm dreading it.

Contrast that to the "OMG!" feeling we had watching Boba curbstomp an entire squad of stormtroopers and their dropship last year.

I really want to ask Lucasfilm "what the **** happened?! What did you DO"

if it was actually phrased as a question,

Except in your own quandary (which parallels the 200 inane (although fun) pages of complaints in this thread) you said

These kids .... steal water,

If they'd "developed" dragged on abt those details further, people would be complaining about that too,
All that mattered is he was a crook too.

People want Eastwood, yet his man with no name, remake of Yojimbo, remake of Red Harvest, all had him play all sides off and eliminate each-other, to "clean up" the town.

Although I agree with everyone, to do it, he simply needs to shut up use the skills and gear he was once granted by Lucas, and keep his stupid helmet on. This soft bloated man with no brain Fett is a hysterical mess:lol

I'm curious about episode 4. Episode 2 wasn't too bad. Episode 2 also mostly made episode 1 redundant. I wonder if there's some weird system here where every other episode is decent, and every other is an episode to satisfy Disney. Kind of like serving two masters. If you love the whole Disney thing, then you can watch episodes 1,3,5,7. If you liked SW just the way it was, then watch episodes 2,4,6.

I know I'm getting desperate.

I think the point is if you see some supposedly poor urchins steal food as means of their sustenance, you wouldn't find those kids all decked out in fancy gear and rides. They'd most likely be in ragged clothes and dirty with no possessions. In contrast, the Mos Vespa gang has all this fancy stuff and looks like they're in fashion. If one didn't know anything about them and saw them initially, they wouldn't fall in the category of poor people that cannot afford to buy water to drink.

What are you basing that supposition on? The fact that he was dressed as a peasant compared to the thieves that were all decked out for Coruscant? Because nothing in the actual show suggested that he was ripping anyone off save for Fett's assumption that 1300 credits was too much. Too much for how much water? Fett has no clue because he didn't ask.

I'm actually out. I'm not watching tomorrow. I'm still going to follow this thread, and if there's some good news I'll give BoBF another watch.

So , I just startwd watching through episode 2.

Let me start off by saying I am not a fan of BF, I never understood the fan boy reaction to him. From the Kenner mystery figure reveal, to his (apparent) demise in ROTJ. I NEVER got it. He never did anything that impressive to me. He seemed like a glorified errand boy. So I cant get involved with the whole idea he was EVER a badass as so many think he is…..

Flash back to the PT , and we see nothing impressive either. Basically a clone, bred to be aggressive, but damaged by his father death.

So , it probably much easier to see this new series in a positive light. I think the direction they have taken the character is very interesting, much better than the typical bad boy , 80’s action hero so many fans seem to want. I had my fill of that character in the 80’s 90’s and 2000…..it just been done to death.

Now we seem to have a redemption arc going, which has also been done too much. However . I find it compelling with this series. We have a bounty hunter, who they are showing as past his prime, if he had any, returning to a world where he knows nothing of leadership and commanding a following. Essentially , I see this as a loner renegade, who failed, trying to rebuild himself , as a respected leader. This is interesting to me.

I loved seeing his bloated, broken body be rebuilt by the Tuskins and living hard in a situation with very little. The dive into Tuskin society, both in this and Mando, has been a great joy to see. I really hope we get to see more of this society building. I would love to see how the Hutts crime syndicate works.

I also like political and crime dramas, so I actually hope to see this more as a intrigue story of a crime lords rise, than an action based bad *** against the world. I wanna see him manipulate the characters into his power zone. Also hope to see him sumble in this world where he obviously has zero experience being a leader.

Really excited to see where this goes, for the first time I am interested in Boba Fett……

This guy gets it.

Fett's assumption that 1300 credits was too much. Too much for how much water?
Nobody cares. And people would have complained if they dragged the story and got into those details too. They even make a joke about it as the merchant starts narrating the history and value of water on Tat.
They moved on without him...

Assumption is; water is a lucrative commodity on Tatooine, whoever has got it.
A crime lord (even a dumb one) is going to "manage" it as he sees fit. Nobody cares beyond that.
Especially when there is an "exciting" Quadrophenia Mods vs Boss Hog scooter chase to get to! :lol

The first thing he should have asked Fett...

The Vespa gang not only had shiny rides and fancy clothes, they also have voluntary cybernetic transplants. The "sharpshooter" with the cyber eye even explicitly tells Fett at the end of the episode that he *paid a lot* for that eye. But he and his gang are supposed to be too poor to afford water, thus being sympathetic in their actions. Ridiculous.

BTW, the notion of there being an implied logic that stealing water was paying for their expensive, polished, and well-maintained stuff is laughably absurd. The water monger even told Fett that previous daimyos had not allowed any stealing of his inventory on their watch. So, did these cyperpunk dweebs get and mod their Vespas, and also make themselves cyborgs, all during Fett's one week on the throne? GTFO.

If stealing a week's worth of water could pay for all of that, just imagine how many of those people lining the streets would've been rushing that big water tower that came crashing down during the lame chase scene. A water monger would be living like a king.

The complete disregard for plot logic would be fine if it was limited to this Vespa gang/water monger storyline, but the lazy writing has plagued the entire show thus far. There are countless examples of it. All the rationalizations for Vespa gang contradictions fall apart just by paying attention to the stupid story itself.

I really like that Wor-Gar asked me what my "#1 SW Timeline" was. Because by saying "timeline" instead of "canon" it really made me realize that one version of the story doesn't trump another, even in the "official" sense. There's just different timelines of the "official" story and I personally see that there are three:

1. Original Lucas Timeline (Theatrical OT + EU) 1977-1996
2. Revised Lucas Timeline (OT:SE + PT + TCW +EU) 1997-2013
3. Disney Timeline (OT:SE + PT + Rebels + ST + Solo/RO + Mando/BOBF) 2014-Present

And while the original Lucas Timeline is what I consider to be the true foundation and that which everything else is measured against I can honestly say that each of the three versions of SW are still overall "positive" and things that I would say that I enjoy despite their flaws.

Now we can all cherry pick from the various timelines in order to try and pick an ideal narrative for our own personal head canons but I bet almost every fan of SW has chosen one of those three timelines above that they cherish and protect above all others. Which is fun but it also leads to *massive* disappointment when hoping that some new movie or show will somehow fit within their preferred timeline.

But we don't need to pretend that there's one true "reality" of SW. There's three. And if Timeline #1 is your bag then there's no need to fret about anything that Disney does because OT Bulloch/Wingreen Fett is untouchable. He'll forever exist unmolested (save ROTJ obviously) no matter what happens going forward.

For OT/PT diehards their Lucas approved Daniel Logan/TM Fett will also remain forever untainted by anything that happens on Disney+.

The current Fett really only exists in the Disney timeline, for better (Tython) and worse (the show that shall not be named, lol.) And for all of you that hate the ST and Disney you don't recognize any of this anyway so there's quite literally nothing of yours that is being "ruined."

I assume this is directed at me, but I never specifically stated that. My point was that based on the info presented we have absolutely no idea who the "crooks" were in the Water Monger vs. Vespa Gang scenario. All we have is an arbitrary number (1300 credits worth of water) that some very well dressed/equipped kids took from a man in very modest attire.
