Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

I've got some Magic Sculpt, it works great. Trouble is you have to order it.

I've added on to sculpts before with sculpey, and I've found that if you score the original surface it will adhere better when baking. Not sure if you tried it yet, but if not I'd give it a shot.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

No, I haven't tried scoring it. I did however buy some air drying sculpt at Hobby Lobby. I haven't messed with it yet but I hope it works.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Really, what did they have? I must have missed it when I was there.

When I did my Monkian sculpt, I baked and with scoring later added the ears, helmet and helmet details. With a total of like 4 or 5 baking sessions... everything stuck very well.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

I forget what it's called but I'll check when i get home. It came in a small black plastic bag.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

I liked your Bespin Luke repaint so I'll be intrested to see how ANH Han turns out.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Good for you Coco! I am painting mine soon also. Be watching your's bro! :rock

Oh, where's Bob?

Bob is having facial problems.:lol I was baking on a little more sculpey and after taking him out of the oven I dropped him :banghead.
I knocked off a bit of his cheek and then noticed the sculpey wasn't exactly sticking to the sculpt very well so, with some help from galactiboy, I've found some other sculpting material that doesn't require baking that I'm going to try.

I have started making the playing card arm patch for him though. At least that's going well.:D

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Dropping a sculpey head is very sad indeed... I broke a piece off of one yesterday while Dremmeling out a neck :monkey2

Bummer.:monkey2 I wasn't very happy when i dropped my bob sculpt, that's for sure.

Anyways, I finished Han. I also dulled down the white of his shirt but it's hard to tell in pictures.

Non-flash pics...

Ah, good work... the flash images looked kind of odd, but the natural light look fantastic! Great work man :rock

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

AMAZING work Coco.... This is by far the best repaint I have yet seen from you, I love the shades you picked. You should be very proud of it, it's badass! :rock:rock:rock

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Now that's how the production Han should have looked!

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Coco -- what ever happened to BOB? Did you finish him?

Bob took a tumble and broke part of his cheek off but I plan on fixing him soon. I've been working on his playing card patch in the meantime. I also found a knife, which I had to repaint, and a gun for him.

The card patch isn't screen accurate but I don't have a clear pic of the movie patch so this'll have to do for now.
