Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

I wanted both, even if I don't have room for it.
Then, theres the money issue..

Then theres the biggest issue!! My girlfriend :(... She hates me for buying the tumbler and even more now that we are moving to our new smaller appartment!

Collecting is hard!!

My GF doesn't LOVE that I spend so much money on toys but she does LOVE my Tumbler. She has warned me that I'm not allowed sell it.

Would it be possible and worth your while to assure her that these will be the biggest items you buy? (i.e - are you going to want the Batwings if HT make them) I'm living in a small apartment too, the sitting room of which is pretty dominated by my toys. She seems to have come to terms with it. However I will struggle to fit the 89 Batmobile in so for me, I have to rule out the Batwings.

I like all the "girlfriend' excuses.

I'm not interested in the batwing... Not the '89 anyway ;-).. TDKR though?...
She did calm down a bit when she saw the prices I can sell the figures for, so maybe I'll go with that approach :)

How do you access the battery compartment for the lights? I want to build a display case for this, so i'll hook the lights up to the mains if i can do it in an unobtrusive way. Would anyone be able to share a photo?

Serious. My gf wont know about this until it arrives and I have that stupid look on my face when she gets home from work as I'm trying to find a permanent place to display it.

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

I got a quote for a custom case for the Tumbler. It would be made of glass, and feature a mirror base. They quoted me $800. I knew that it would be expensive, but is that even reasonable?

So let me understand this, you will pay 2x the price of the tumbler for a display case?

I have a great idea, why not buy 2x more tumbler and put it in storage, so when the first one gets "destroyed" from the dust, you can just whip out a new one to take its place.

Tada!

In your bedroom, directly across the bed on the dresser. So every day when both of you wake up, it's the first thing you see staring at you right in the face.

Sorry I don't have a photo, but there's a screw-shut compartment on the side. It's actually a little oversized and inaccurate from that part on the real car to accomodate the batteries, but it's inconspicuous enough.

Thanks :) Is it on the left or right side?

Dusted my Tumbler just now. I didn't realise it had turned grey.

That's movie accurate for the garage scene.

:lol No, don't worry. Just the layer of dust obscured the full blackness of this beast.

couldn't resist.

Don't let the dust rest to long as there are dust mites that eat dust as it's mostly composed of exfoliated skin and they leave _____ matter. That's the sticking film you see on items that have had dust on them a while. That stuff will damage the surface.

You can't say f ecal?
