The dark knight blue ray

The only problem I have with this film is the sound levels are atrocious in some parts.

EDIT: But not when I saw it in IMAX, so that could be why I guess.

It sure is, I had 5.1 surround; and couldn't get it to balance on any setting.

How could they have had every shot fill the screen on the blu ray, without stretching the image or having loads of it cut off the sides?

I don't see how they couldn't. I am no expert though. I think I will try to use the stretch feature on my TV the next time. When the IMAX stuff comes on it may make it how people say "un-noticable.". It will be interesting to see what it looks like when they start showing it in HD on Starz or HBO.

I know?!!? I tried everything to get it right on my Bravia, (I don't have surround, but it comes with dolby virtual), and nothing works.

Really detracts from the film a great deal as the music will be building up and then go all quiet as the scene cuts. Plus the gunshots and explosions are incredibly weak.

I guess it has something to do with IMAX sound, as it was fine in that when I watched it I think.

Stretching the image would be far more distracting than coping with two contrast ratios.

I'd say if you are that bothered by it, buy the DVD.

I know, this aspect ratio change is almost as bad as the noticable stitching on the SS 1/6 Vader and the slightly wrong color pants on the Anakin PF.

Still need to pick up my Batpod set at best buy, since I need to pick it up I went ahead and ordered the best buy exclusive with the Batman mask for pick up. My wife also picked up the walmart exclusive with the Two Face coin last night but its going back, it looks cheap. Anyone else has the Batman or Joker mask set? Does it look cheaply made?

MAN !! I wanted the batpod one but when I got to best buy and saw how small it was and the price of 72 after tax I changed my mind.

the mask looks ok nothing crazy.

I rather save the money and get the BATPOD HOT TOYS that i am 90% sure I am getting.

So i wonder how the hell it got a full score on blu-ray.com .I got it in norway so im curious if i should import one from the states,check if its the same because you guys says its good,mine is NOT good,and ive watched plenty of Blu ray movies and ive seen nothing as bad as this one.

Blu-Ray.com reviews are hardly ever accurate.

I agree that the TDK transfer is subpar. I've seen much better. The Edge enhancement is off the charts.

The Prologue on the Begins BR was much sharper and vivid. I was disappointed to see this wasn't the case when I popped in TDK. Not to mention that the IMAX scenes are slightly tapered in the TDK release when compared to the Begins Prologue.

IMO the picture quality on this blu ray is fantastic. At least on my set.

Like others have said, my only complaint is the sound. For me, the audio dialogue is too low compared to the background music and effects. I'll turn the volume up to hear the talking, then BOOM gunshots or explosion or the background music comes in and rattles the whole freakin apartment.

Seems like they did a rush job on the equalizing of the audio tracks....maybe it was this way for IMAX but why couldnt they have edited it so that it would be equal for everyone's home systems. last time I checked, normal people dont have IMAX in their living room

yeaa look into that. mybe that version was encoded wrong.
that sucks man.

one part that was really awsome is when he was drining the lamborgini and you could see the water spots running down the driver side window.
incredible detail only blue ray pics up.

Doesn't look bad at all. Just compare this with other BRs. The transfer could be better. Tone down the ^^^^ing edge enhancement WB.
