we are so close guys !!
Just want to know who is getting the BR version?

I'll get the Blu-Ray Version when I either get a PS3 or a Blu-Ray player but for now the DVD will be fine :banana

I'm buying the BR version on Friday.

Was gonna get it today but can't be bothered.
School is making me really tired lately... thankfully we finish Friday :joy

Ok unoticable? Not quite. Not sure what your rig looks like but I sit in front (about 4 feet) from a 52 inch wide screen. When it changes you can't miss it. :lol

I still saw the bars come and go, but it wasn't that big a deal to me... I didn't notice after the first change. Everything seemed fine to me.

I think Twilight has burnt your brain bro. :lol

Umm because to me it is very noticeable. I am very irrated at this bluray. This is the best movie on Bluray that I own and has made the worst transition if that makes sense. The sound is horrible as well. The talking parts are really low and the action is really loud. It is like when you watch a TV show and the commercials come on. Usually I wouldn't have picked up on this but I just moved into an apartment and cannot blast it. What a shame this Bluray is. Feel like I pissed money away on a bootleg or something.

So i heard too...read the review on blu-ray.com.The soundtrack is barely noticeable in action scenes too.But do you have a surround system or just the tv?Because if you have a surround system you can just turn up the center speaker a little and the talking part is solved, the soundtrack is something else though.

Im picking up the blu-ray today!

Yeah I have a surround system but my remote was at my old house at the time so I couldn't adjust anything. :monkey2

I agree.....

Any problems switching from IMAX to widescreen (whatever the problem reported is) on BR passed by without my knowledge. I did notice the IMAX scences and the big difference they made....simply amazing.

Not necessarily a lemon, bro. Mine busted 2 weeks ago while watching Wall-E. The good thing is, it was under warranty and the turn-around time was only a week.

That's awesome to hear. I'm so disappointed this happened at this moment. For me, besides the 6 SW films (they are in a category of their own, not the best movies ever made, but my favorites), TDK and BB are my two favorite movies. I had to go and buy the DVD last night to get by with until I get my PS3 back. At least I got the cover I wanted, Batman in front of the burning building. I hate that we only had one choice for the Bluray cover. The burning building cover represents the film so much better than the Batpod cover.

Oh well, done with whining, for me I watched it at my buddies house who has a 46" Sharp LCD and I thought the transition from IMAX shots to normal shots were totally unnoticeable after 10 minutes. I'm glad they did it this way. Looks gorgeous and the best Bluray transfer I've seen.

From afar, the Blu-Ray cover gives the appearance that the film is about a giant insect.

Well, the blu ray is good but it is not THE best looking movie out there on Blu.

There is a huge discussion of it on AVSForum where the guys there take AV quality as serious as most of us here take our collectibles. There is a great thread that has comparison pics between the DVD and Blu Ray. The DVD looks like crap, very soft and a ton of macroblocking. While the Blu Ray version is far superior, it also has some picture issues with too much edge enhancement. To me, I don't notice it as much as the movie sucks me in and I don't look for it but it is there. It is worth a look though just to compare the differences.

Haven't even gotten a chance to re-watch the film yet on blu ray, I've been spending my time watching all the special features, a lot of which are throwaway fluff.

The lack of a commentary track with Nolan hurts once again (as it did with BB).

Whoever says the aspect ratio transitions aren't noticeable is either blind or just choosing their words poorly.

It's noticeable, very noticeable. In fact, if it wasn't noticeable, then why do it? Is it distracting? Not to me, I think it really enhances those shots of the city from the sky and that type of thing.

Distracting? No.
Noticeable? Hell yes.

Ouch. The DVD cuts off a lot more of the image than I suspected.

The only problem I have with this film is the sound levels are atrocious in some parts.

EDIT: But not when I saw it in IMAX, so that could be why I guess.

:clap Thank you!

I must point out that the reason it is distracting for me is I am a bit OCD with stuff like that. I am the type that cant read if I have background noise. I don't even like it if something is too far out on my coffee table when I am trying to watch a movie or anything in my line of site that annoys me for that matter. So for me it was irritating.:lol:eek:

Just wish they would have made it an option to turn that off or just done the whole movie that way. When I watch an HD movie on HBO it covers the whole screen. No reason why they couldn't have done it for this.

How could they have had every shot fill the screen on the blu ray, without stretching the image or having loads of it cut off the sides?
