I see the box office is lower than TDK at same amount of days of release

TDK didn't have a theater shot up with 12 people killed (58 injured) on its first day of release.

Right now, after 12 days TDKR is at $304,045,972 ($552,245,972 Worldwide).

TDK after 12 days was at $333,929,159 ($401,629,159 Worldwide)

Still ahead of pace to hit 1 billion worldwide.

Fact check: The Dark Knight was in theaters for two hundred and thirty-one days.

Hell, even Green Lantern would've posted decent numbers if it had been in release that long.

Haha ...

Yeah, that's the ticket. The only thing GL did wrong was they didn't give it enough time to catch on! Bastards.

I don't buy the shooting hurting the BO nationwide that much. I'm sure there was some fall back from it but I don't think it was the $35 million difference between projections and where it ended up. It fell of over 60% last weekend here in the states and by now most folks have moved on from that event.

I dunno. TDKR was going to have epic turn outs opening weekend. I really do think the shooting hurt it, and really bad. Ironically, Heath's death really boosted TDK sales. So go figure. The positives and negatives of death.

I enjoy GL but it was a bit of a mess. John Carter is damn good but Disney screwed themselves on that one.

Definatley. Disney did themselves no favors with John Carter. It was a good film that wasn't given the proper chance. The trailers made it look like crap! :slap

Well, if it did I would think you wouldn't have seen a 60% drop the second weekend. People get over things quick outside of the area it happened. So I just don't buy into it hurt the numbers to the toon of $35 million dollars.

Yeah, Disney should have its arse kicked for how they messed things up with this one.

I think that was just the premiere stuff. Could and probably am wrong though.

Devil FTW

Nah, you still eat Logan's leftovers. :lecture:lecture:lecture

:exactly: :goodpost:

But they'll cling to every excuse they can to explain why it's not doing as well as they'd claimed it would. :lol

I'll be seeing TDKR again sometime soon. ____ ticket sales. Couldn't care less.

Agreed. I enjoyed Avengers more and watched it 4 times, none to try and help boost sales, i only went back cause i enjoyed the film so much. I will see TDKR again but twice is enough, i think i got everything i wanted from the first viewing with this film.
