Love that the Con exists.

But what I love even better is saving the 2 grand to buy collectibles, and seeing the SDCC collectibles on the internet almost as quickly as the folks attending, and seeing bootlegs of the trailers like MOS, both from the comfort of my home in my pajamas, instead of having to stand on lines.

It's like WIN/WIN.

Especially since HT/EB have a bigger presence at Anicon and what I collect is from both of them.

There's so much more to SDCC than collectibles and panels, though. Yes, it's basically Ground Zero for all pop culture for the next 12 months. But there's more... all kinds of cool stuff you can see and do there that doesn't happen elsewhere, not even any of the other big shows. Everyone in these hobbies should experience it at least once.

No shame here :yess:

:goodpost::exactly:

I'd love to attend SDCC at some point

Start saving now and shoot for next year.

That's possible. I know that political candidates will sometimes ask loaded questions to get a desired response so they can promote their BS agendas. But wofford said they were polling for their "clients," which seems to be the film companies themselves. If that was the case, and this wasn't done for the purpose of trying to excuse the numbers to the public so much as letting those companies know why something happened so they might try to step up their marketing efforts or whatever, then it could be objective.

Shareholders. :wink1:

I would be very surprised if Hobbit beats Avengers, but we'll see. At this point I think it'll end up
1. Avengers
2. Hobbit
3. TDKR

I think that'll likely be the case with Spider-Man a lower 4th. I'll be genuinely surprised if TDKR nets a billion before leaving theatres though.

Just got back from seeing it. For the first hour or so, the editing and pacing was weird, it just seemed like clips of a longer story were edited together. It like I was watching a highlight reel. But once Batman came back and started kicking ass I was happy, I had a big grin on my face for the last 30 minutes or so. I think overall I enjoyed it more than The Avengers.

saw this again last night. I really still dig it. I feel like the pacing is great...it certainly keeps my attention and it never really feels as long as it really is. I went with several of the 'plotholes' in mind, but I still found the majority of them to be nit-picky. I think Nolan has a weird sense of time. He could do more to show time passing, but I'm sure those are on the cutting room floor. The point is...there are some things that seem a bit unrealistic or silly, but I don't think it ever distracts from inspiring some seriously awe inspiring and iconic scenes. But I'm more in the party of just taking something for what it is.

All and all I really love this movie, it's a great end to nolan's batmans arc. I think what I like about this movie the best is that it sort of separates the comic batman from the nolan batman. When these movies didn't have a clear ending I felt nolans batman was constantly falling short of the expectations I, and I'm sure many fans, have on who/what batman should be (especially with the ending of TDK for me). It's more dramatic and operatic and all based in something plausable as 'real' and therefore the character struggles with his own rules and abilities. By the end of this one, you realize you have a flawed almost desperate version of batman doing the absolute best he can to save the gotham city nolan has created for him, even if it means breaking that one rule.

When he leaves the mantle open for Blake, I feel we finally have someone that can live up to the pure expectations of the calm-collected, level headed, detective who will live by a strict ideology and always be prepared for whatever is thrown at him. Thus, the last arc that I think the title is referring to

Especially with Gordon promoting Blake to "Detective".

I thought the first hour really set the film up. I know alot criticised the amount of characters but for me it was 3 focus points; Bruce/alfred/lucious, foley/gordon/blake, catwoman/dagget/torchwood guy. Bane tied all 3 together full circle when Batman returned which is why i thought it was superb.

Agree on the time lapse by Nolan. poorly done. You had to go by tiny dialogue of 5month.till detonation, then 3month, 28 days, 18 hours when gordon approached Foley, 6 hours when bats saves gordon/police, 45 mins when war startd/catwoman blows the cars gordon/transmitter blocker.

Takes 3 viewings to grasp it lol.

saw this for a 3rd time last night took the wife she hated it .
