Fine. But then say you don't like the movie. Because I find it incredibly hard to believe that if you do enjoy the film, you're picking it apart.

Why would you do that for a movie you enjoy? Why not let it be? Discuss the good, or even the bigger bad moments?

It's like, you have a friend, and you enjoy being around this friend, yet you point at all the little things you don't like about him/her as a person.

Sure, the film should deserve to be poked and prodded. I do it too. And even discuss the flaws .

But come on. The last 30 pages have been nothing but "OHMAHGERD PLOT HOLESSS". It's not even fun any more.

It's just...dull. Good points were brought up all around in the beginning. But people are pushing it way too far.

And I ain't sayin things need to be positive. Just not nit picky. Nit picking sucks.

Agree 100%...That is all I was trying to say in a few words...another great post to the point Celtic...

This is my criteria for a movie

If I can answer yes - it was a good film and I leave it at that. Granted there are some films out there that raise a lot of questions or view points that are meant for one to discuss or think about after the film ends.

I do not think this was one of those types of films. And therefore I will enjoy it for what it is - a damn good entertaining film that I will watch again and buy on BluRay. I love what Nolan did with this trilogy and the fact that I was entertained...and moved to tears...and sitting on the edge of my seat is good enough for me.

good post....

That's another thing too. This movie isn't that intelligent. In fact, I wouldn't even say TDK or Begins had much to dissect. They were pretty straight forward, they had an underlining theme, but they were always on the surface of everything.

:lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly::goodpost: Too many people try to look for depth in kiddie pools. :lol

I thought TDK was the best of the three and I agree it had the most annoying fans, but that's not enough to turn me away from a movie. I feel TDKR wasn't even as good as Batman Begins, really. It certainly felt rushed and choppy, even though it dragged... if that makes any sense. lol

Because making more money = better movie.

Britney Spears and Katy Perry must make the best music of all time.

becaues of what edonian said,
has nothing to do with money, this year is for the Avengers for being a good movie, because Marvel Did what DC Couldn't because Iron man was great,
and for me the most money is just the top, even if it made less, I could see myself watching Avengers a lot more than Rises in the future, Rises to me will be a movie I watch if i decided to watch the trilogy again,

avengers will be the movie I just watch whenever,

I agree. Now I have not read all the post that have been Nit Picking. So I am not sure what the complaints all are. I did go back far enough and saw that people did not like the "I've come to stop you" line, which I am glad to see that I am not the only one who giggled at that.

The thing about nit picking and why it may be ok with this film is that

1. There is a lot to Nit Pick
2. A very high standard was set with the first two films
3. It's a Nolan film and thus again is held to a high standard

You can enjoy a film and nit pick. The question is, will those nit picks be able to be ignored with time or will they start to stick out like ugly zits on a pretty girl?

Also while you may see it as a nit pick others may see it as a glaring flaw.

For me I was just shocked, after seeing it a second time, how much I found the plot holes to be glaring, the cliche parts seemed more silly and the film as a whole to be boring. I was shocked because I really enjoyed the film the first time.

It is a somewhat big step down IMO from the first two films.

I am not sure what to think of Joaquin Phoenix the person....but I think he is one damn hell of a fine actor. Really looking forward to seeing his performance in The Master - I hear it's his best one yet.

I think Nitpicking is ruining cinema.

People are looking at them straight in the eye. Looking at the smaller picture, rather then the bigger one.

Sure, that line sucked big ones. But regardless, it doesn't stop me from enjoying the film.

Only you can do that. You HAVE to really dive deep into the problems while you're watching it.

And then it'll ruin the movie for you.

I would not say Nitpicking is ruining cinema. I would say poor film making is.

That is not to say TDKR is poor film making. Far from.

I would agree with your post but I tend not to nit pick films. If a film has flaws I don't mind ignoring them. The line as you said Sucked big ones and that would be fine if that was the only issue. Unfortunatly the film was peppered with issues. If it was just a bad line here and a cheesy scene there, it would not be a big issue. Batman Begins has some of that in it's film but as a whole it a great film where the small issues can be overlooked. However TDKR has many more flaws and after awhile they add up to to being a problem for the overall enjoyment of the film. TDKR was also lacking some "Great moments" that the other two films had.

Again that is not to say that the film is bad. It's not. But it is more Return of the Jedi then it is Empire Strikes Back.

I get what you're saying. But to me, when I started to nitpick TDK, I started to not enjoy it so much. Which made me step back and go...OK, wait. I don't enjoy a movie any more that i've enjoyed for years...because of..what?

Little things bugged me. The Joker's hair, lack of blood during the bank scene, some acting, Rachel's fall, weird edits...ect.

Those are things that happen in almost every film ever made. Why should I dislike it because of those?

My only problem with TDK is the last act with the ferries. It drags and drags. And it makes the ending not quite so amazing.

TDKR does drag, but thankfully, in the middle. Then the end is a big action fest.

TDKR has flaws. But I think when you snowball the little nitpicks Vs. the real flaws, it becomes confusing as to what is good, and what is bad.

I hope that makes sense. I can point out a lot of real, actual problems with TDKR. And they aren't nitpicks/
