Man I keep noticing new things! Saw it for the 8th time. Noticed these two things:

So early in the film, there an orphan who washes up dead from the sewers, and Blake visits that scene

Later, when Gordon goes into the sewers and there's an explosion, I guess Blake assumes Gordon's been captured/is in trouble. His instinct is to go to an outlet like where the orphan washed up (not sure if it's the same outlet), and viola there's where Gordon washes up too.

I never connected the scenes until now.

------

Batman's first appearance, the Batpod speeds away and all the lights go off in its wake (due to EMP).

A parallel to this is during the siege, when Blake is driving Gordon down the street, the lights go off in their wake (due to power shortage I suppose).

But it's some foreshadowing I think to Blake becoming Batman 2.0.

There's so much layering in this film, another reason I love it :yess:

I noticed that sewer tunnel entrance on my first viewing. It took you your eighth? :lol

Oh and the whole "Blake and Gordon driving down the street and the power flickering = parallel to Batman's EMP device" seems a bit contrived. I highly doubt that's what they were going for.

If that's the case, I might as well think that whole scene was a homage to what Max Shreck says in Batman Returns,

"Imagine Gotham City. Shining like a blanket of stars. But the lights blinking on and off, sadly low on juice. Quite frankly, I cringe Mr. Mayor."

Man, there's no way. :lol

I bet if you asked the Nolans or Goyer they'd be like, "huh, we just wanted to show that the city is losing control and that Bane is taking over".

I don't know about that. I had more of a life when I saw Fellowship of the Ring 9 times.

I've been thinking lately that I have no life because I've only seen DKR once.

You saw the Fellowship of the Ring 9 times?

"9 companions to match the 9 Ring Wraiths to match Devilof's 9 viewings."

I've seen TDKR 7 times, TDK 6 times in the theater and The Two Towers 8 times.

I think those are my 3 highest viewed films.

I don't even keep track of how many times I've seen a movie after the third or fourth viewing. I saw TDKR more than three times, that's all I know.

What do you guys do, mark the dates on a calendar or something? Keep a tally in a notebook?

I know between IMAX, regular theater, original release and the December IMAX re-release I saw TDK a **** ton but I can't tell ya how many times I saw it. It's not even bad memory, it's just irrelevant. After the second viewing who the heck is going to keep count?

When you go see it a 9th or 10th time Void are you going to be like "NUMBA 10" when you sit your ass down in the theater? :lol

I don't know, mental notes :lol

I don't actually remember how many times I saw TDK in theater but it was roughly 3 or 4 times initially, and then couple more with the all night trilogy shows :lol

What're you laughing at? Mr. 13 times Avengers :rotfl
