And that's also why he's NOT "the ******* Batman".

Yet he's still Batman enough to take out entire SWAT teams, recover from a serious back injury within 6 months and climb out of a pit without a rope and thwart the plans of a centuries old secret organization of ninjas not once, but twice.

But he can't light up a gasoline fueled Bat symbol on a bridge without being detected? Sure :lol

'No city is without crime, but this city is without organized crime'

Also spoonfed to you. :rotfl

This is not a Batman that goes around knocking off petty thieves. This series has always been about large scale crime - once you tackle that, the police can clear up the rest.

Even more of a reason why its stupid. joker didnt make a move. Scarcrow didnt make a move, the mafia didnt do anything in a huge city like that for 8 yrs ? lol um ok them.

"were destined to do this forever" pshh yea right joker.

Gotham is a curupt city im pretty sure gotham needs batman but in this movie apparently not.

Joker's in Arkham. Scarecrow is in Blackgate presumably until Bane let's him out.

If you don't like it you don't like it - but don't try to claim plotholes where they don't exist.

Who said anything about a plothole ? i just thought it was stupid that batman just gave up for 8yrs and the most curupt city is at peace with crime becuase of the cops:cuckoo:. I guess im still looking toward the batman approach and not the realistic nolan approach.

That phrase and his complete omittance because Nolan put his personal feelings before his cinematic obligation will forever stain TDKR.

Anyone who thinks that clearly did not comprehend why he retired :lecture

It wasn't because Rachel died.

It was because Batman won. Gotham was at peace. His sacrifice worked. This is even spoonfed to you in his hospital meeting with Gordon.

that it a little bit ridiculous, there is no way that in 8 years another crazy person didn't try to mess with Gotham, specially after the Joker showed all the crazies it was possible, that was just a stupid way for Nolan to make the story work, There is no way there were no bad guys in 8 years, I am not talking about small time criminals,

do you know how long 8 years is?
a long time, and for no one to try to take control of Gotham, when all the mafia bosses are in jail?
that is not only unrealistic, but that would make this movie a fantasy, might as well have dragons and fairies and crap......

a little girl escaped the pit, so that is not a lot to brag about.... :rotfl

and he did NOT stop the plan of a centuries old secret organization

he simply stopped the plan of a crazy cult with a guy in a mask that has a crush on a girl that friendzoned him,

Lol and all he had to do was cut the cords on banes mask. The comic batman would have thought that up real quick. bane in the comics was on venom juice and batman was worn out from fighting all his foes. lol i dont know.

It's a perfect parallel to what happened in the US after 9/11.

After OBL showed what can be done by hijacking a few planes, you would have thought someone else would've done it again within 8 yrs, oh wait, it's been 11 years now... and no major incident in the US... hmmm I wonder what happened.

The Patriot Act.

:wink1:

'Peace has cost you your strength, victory has defeated you'

Batman is in a weakened state as he's been out of action for 8 years. Please try harder :lol

Void, look up "underwear bomber" (not kidding). There was also a shoe bomber too. Attempts were still made.

Well aware of those :lol
Point is noone was successful. The story draws a clear parallel to it with the Dent Act. It doesn't require that much of a leap of faith as some are suggesting.

Attempts were still made tho. People didnt give up on trying to wrec havoc.

Sitting in your house having everything done for you by maids and butlers vs being a mercenary battling the CIA and plotting to kill an entire city. I would say Bats was a little soft compared to Bane at that point.

No one ever said crime was completely abolished! Thinking that is ludicrous. Of course there was still crime, and I am sure some criminals jumped at the chance to try something once they saw the Joker do what he did, that doesn't mean Gotham's finest couldn't handle them. Batman took out the main threat at the time. All others preceding him are just thugs. And once again.... these films are supposed to differ from the comics. Some seem to be having to much difficulty understanding that.

So soft in fact that he couldn't still bullseye with a bow and arrow... oh, wait.... :lol
