Many moons ago when they first announced Bane as the villain I was really hoping Daniel Cudmore would get the spot. I always wanted to see him in a more central role in the X-Men (mostly because Colossus is one of my favorites from the comics), I think his size and the wheezing mask would have carried this well.

He looks ready to manhandle pretty much anyone. AND, at 6'6" ish, he wouldn't have needed those 2 inch lift boots built into Bane's costume. :lol

By choosing Harding for Bane, they might as well just had Umair play the part, at least it would've been a freak we so dearly hold close to our hearts and a deserving fan. :lol

Bet you Harding doesn't own miniature expensive Kato suits.......

Wait......:lol

:lol Nolan would've had to CG the fight scenes to mimic Yoda in AOTC. :lol

Obviously Bane was much more powerful than Bats, but the way some people describe it, makes it seem like thats the only reason he defeats batman. No, it's because Bane is better trained and skilled, on top of him being stronger. That's why he defeats batman in the sewers. As for Bane punching the wall, and throwing bats off the walkway, yeah, that could be considered brute strength. Which some of it is. But a lot of it is the LOS's and Ra's training. :lecture

Those skinny little white kids karate chop through bricks all the time. . . .

People have to remember and accept this is Nolan Bane, not comic Bane.

It is though really. I mean remember, banes build and the fact he feels no pain means he can absorb punches without being knocked off balanace. His brick sheite-house build makes him much more heavy, the muscle pulls its weight means his is almost an immoveable object ( ;] ). Banes skill ofcourse comes into it, but bane just stands there and lets Batman tire out on him; he can only do that because of his build and pain immunity. If we was scrawny, he wouldve toppled under the punches.

And Banes punches are much more devestating because of the power behind the precision.

They don't make binoculars powerful enough for some of the shortsightedness in here.

I actually think the Rock would make a good Bane.

He has the piercing eyes. And this:

But nowhere near the level of acting as Hardy.

Who cares how tall an actor is in real life if that doesn't come across on screen? Hardy had the presence, the mass, and is 100 times the actor that the Rock will ever be. Hardy FTW.

I enjoyed Hardy's performance too much to care that he wasn't a 7 foot tall behemoth.

These other actors may have looked better height and build wise (i.e. accurate to the comic), but I doubt their acting would have been better or even on par.

I'm sure someone like the Rock would have gotten heaps of praise on the forums from fanboys just because of his body since a lot of armchair-casting directors only focus on visuals. But fortunately Nolan went with someone who could give an interesting performance.

So, you'll just have to imagine the drool.
