Well, I am afraid I classify for that group. There's very little this film get's right. The central idea of the movie was absolutely fantastic (it still is, i guess if I had seen it without knowing anything about the story, it would probably seem a bit more impressive), but the screenplay that Lindeloff concocted (or rather raped Spathis original draft) and the way it, not only ruined the premise, wasting all the potential in the cetral idea, but also filled it with so many stupidities, is just too much for me.

I am not one of those people who nitpick films. I can take any unrealistic, stupid, ridiculous or over-the-top idea, as long as its either enjoyable, funny, emotional or just plain good to watch. But the amount of stupid in this movie is just too much for me. I've seen it several times, trying really hard to enjoy it, even hoping the Blu Ray deleted scenes with salvage it somehow, but no. The more I see it, the worse it gets. The visual aspect, Fassbender and Idris Elba are the only good things about it for me.

But still. "Blade Runner", "Alien" and "Gladiator" man. Seriously at this point Scott, could spend the rest of his days doing tv commercials, and it still wouldn't make me think less of him. Same with Nolan.

Then you're not in my lump. I'm talking about the people who can't even praise the things the film did get right.

I'm not going to disagree that the film is almost entirely flawed. But....I think it's unfair to just negate it all, when the film does some incredible things. Maybe it's not great in an overall aspect. But there are points that have never been done.

I loved the visuals. Bought, kept and probably re-watch the Blu Ray, becouse of the visuals. Am I free to leave Your lump? :)

Yes. :lol

I love you CelticPredator, you're one of my several brothers from other mothers here on the boards (yo Jye, when is your dad going to pay child support, times are tough) but I thought Brometheus sucked . . . and then I forgot about it and never cared nor commented on it again.

Am I now lumped into doom? You gonna send your bro to the pits of hell?

Also...

:D

Anyone else find it strange that CP has so many lumps? I mean, at this point, he's either a woman or pretty cancerous.

Damn. If it's the former, how big are your bazoongas?

One awf these years I will watch Brometheus.

I'm not young anymore, I can only take one dizzapointment a year :lol

I think you'll watch it the same way I did. When I saw it, I knew everyone's issues (general issues, not specific), the bad characters, the dumb things they did...ect.

So when I saw it....it wasn't nearly as godawful as the reviews said it to be. I went in with low expectations, but beyond high excitement. That day will be remembered for a long while. Great night.

CP is turning into a female dog.

Jye's grammar is evolving (or devolving depending on how you feel) into a jyecat's, each and every day.

What's going on in this world?

Don't go in expecting a masterpiece like Alien or Aliens, and you'll love it.

Don't go in expecting a masterpiece, and only think about the story and characters in the most broad terms You possibly can. Don't try to analyse their decisions. That's when the illusion breaks and quickly You'll start wondering, when Scott started not to give any ****s, and wasn't there anyone on the set or the editing room to shout "WHAT THE FU*K?!?"
Also, Lindeloff smells. So there's that.

^ Watch the 4 hour documentary. Things behind the scenes will make more sense.

And that gif is beyond amazing.

Watch a 4 hour documentary to make sense of a 2 hour movie. :monkey5

Make sense of the behind the scenes stuff. Not the movie. :lol

You'll understand why the filmmakers made choices for certain things. I dont' agree with a single one.

I did more than that. I also read Spathis original script. The movie gets even worse for me after that. Yes, some of the things in the movie, are explained and make more sense. But when You know what Scott's or Spathis original intentions were, the more You see how much they ****ed it up with the final film. Most of all, You can see clearly how much of a no-talent Lindelloff is. He truly frankenstein'ed the original draft adding his own nonsense on top of Spathis plot points, without truly merging it. When You read the original script, and watch some of the documentaries, You actually see that scenes and elements from the old draft are still in the movie, even if by that point, they don't fit in it at all. That's one of the reason why there are so many WTF moments in the "Prometheus"
Seriously Lindellof...

So no more documentaries for me. If I re-watch the BD, I will ignore all the extras and simply focus on the vistas, cinematography, gigeresque designs, Charlize Theron's face and try hard to ignore the fact that the look of the final xenomorph is a total disappointment.

Jye, watch the movie. There's a giant Cthulhu squid, mouth-raping a space albino greek. What more can You ask for in a cinematic experience?
