Maybe I should have said comic book like then...
Yes it is, hahaha, yes it is.
"Why do we fall".
His father says that to him when he falls into the well. The relief or conclusion is, "so we learn to pick ourselves up".
That's not a throw away line in Begins. This is played up in the third act OF BATMAN BEGINS. When Bruce is at his wits end and frustrated feeling he's failed the city and his father's legacy as he watches his house burn.
What does Alfred say? "Why do we fall" . . . "so we can learn to pick ourselves up".
TDKR just utilizes it because they ran out of ideas, in my opinion...
TDKR takes it back and ****s with it all. Nolan might as well be M. Night Shyamalan. "You think you know Bruce Wayne, think again".
Listen We all know you want Batman to be like the comics version a cold hard detective,etc...Nolan made him a human being whether you like it or not...over a billion dollars from folks hard earned money says otherwise that TDKR doesnt stink...I'm glad it wasnt just a Hard Boiled Batman and that emotions were put in place...am I saying it was perfect...no...but it was good and only a blind man or someone really really stubborn cant see how good this trilogy was...TDKR was the worst of the 3 but still very good in my book and millions of others agree...including 4 out of 5 dentists...LOL
Nope. He was a human being in Begins and TDK and I loved that. His origin isn't even "comic accurate". I don't care about comic accuracy for the most part.
Bane and Talia were complicated? LOL
Scarecrow was complex? LOL
DiFabio can repeat his feelings 100 more times, it still makes sense to me wut he's saying, and it's a pleasure to read.
This is just a message board, a place to express your feelings and have fun about common interests you have with other. So, with that said, TDKR is ****. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are much, much, MUCH better.
I didn't even see one.![]()
None of us expected them to take it where they did. But looking back, what they did in TDKR was actually a logical path to follow considering how TDK ended.
He didn't "sacrifice" the image of Batman and turn Harvey into a martyr to run around beating up street thugs (he wasn't going after the Joe Chills in BB and TDK. He went after the big dogs like Falcone and Maroni. Thanks to Rachel) and get chased by the cops forever (or until the truth came out).
So for me, the characterization of Bruce Wayne and the story points (retiring after TDK, the Dent Act, Batman as a symbol/Batman can be anybody) in TDKR do not contradict the previous films.
Also, way back in an interview with Nolan during Batman Begins, he did say that he looked at Bruce's goal as an achievable one. Which he sort of repeated in a recent interview at the end here.
At the end of da day, TDKR could've made 2 billion dollars and DiFabio would still have his own personal reasons why he didn't like it (and think void is nuts) and vice versa, it could've bombed at the box office yet Void would still have his own personal reasons why he loves it (and think DiFabio is nuts).
It's not just about da money.

He was just providing Maglor a counter argument, is dis a crime now.
Adolfo, Avatar made 17 trillion dollars![]()
Why was bruce all hurt and cripple? He didn't look that hurt to me in Dark Knight, even after the fight with the Joker he seemed okay.
so to go from an okay Bruce Wayne to a cripple Bruce Wayne? that kinda pissed me off.

For those that dislike TDKR, please watch the special feature entitled: "The Journey of Bruce Wayne" (assuming you still bought the disc).
The movies weren't called, "The life and times of Bruce Wayne," dingus.
And honestly, if it has to be explained through a documentary, than Nolan failed as a film maker.![]()
