Wow. Well done to Christopher Nolan for pulling off what is an amazing end to an amazing trilogy. Truly spectacular in scale, and in emotion. I'm not really sure that this is the best film in the trilogy, though. I think more time is needed in order to make an accurate decision, rather than just buying into the hype and automatically saying it is the best. With that said, it is still ____ing awesome.
I must say, the first fight between Batman and Bane might well be one of the greatest one v one fights I've seen in an action film. I also liked how there was no score to accompany the fight. Made it feel more intense, IMO. It was also great to see Batman meet a physically superior opponent. The moment when he breaks Batman's back was awesome, as the image in the film mirrors the image in the comics.
One thing which I guess you could call a nitpick was Bane's death. It just seemed to be over with so quick after there was so much build up surrounding their final fight. Catwoman enters, boom, he's dead. No more mention of him in the rest of the film.
The ending was what you may call predictable, in that Bruce Wayne lives, but it's still a fkn great ending. The scenes leading up to the Bruce/Alfred spotting each other at the restaurant were full of emotion, and yeah, I was teary eyed. Such a great end to the trilogy.
I thought the scene with Blake entering the batcave at the very end was cool, and also a nice way to end the film. I guess we can assume he goes on to protect Gotham. It would be cool to see a sequel with him as Gotham's new hero, but there seems to be no chance of that whatsoever.
Liam Neeson's cameo R'as Al Ghul was pretty cool. I was happy to see him in the film. Crane's (Scarecrow) appearance was neat as well.
End.
