It might not have been too fantastical. If Nolan featured a guy with severe Ichtyhyosis, and done it properly without super CGI/mutation/genetic stuff, Killer Croc would definitely be awesome.

well see They DID that, in Batman Gotham Knight, the cartoon short compilation that NO one saw, they wrote a story for Croc where he has something, and they fought, IN THE SEWERS
and that short was made BY the people making the movie, so in their mind they pretty much already tackled Croc

Well, no. its not. You cant have a fight basically in the Shadows to hide most of croc. it would be ridiculous.

Thing is. Nolan set the precedent for none of the more fantasy villains; Scarecrow doesnt have a body full of hay, infat Hay doesnt even come into scarecrow apart from making his mask probably. Joker isnt really... well funny or a joker. Its a more serious, psychotic terrorist/murderer.

Clayface, Freeze, Croc, Grundy, they just wouldnt work in the traditional way of the comics. Unless croc is a human cannibal with a skin conditions, or something like that, it would truly work.

But those characters just dont fit into the interpretation or vision of Batman Nolan has. I mean, we looked at the 'comic book' style characters; Lee Jones murdered Two-face, Carrey was horrible as Riddler, Thurman was poor as Ivy, Schwarzenegger butchered Freeze and Bane? Total abomination.

This contradicts just about every fight scene in BB. Not only where they shadowed, but blurry as all hell. :dunno

Errrm. a full fight scene in the shadows? Nope. Difference between using the shadows to zipline, and a fight scene in complete darkness. Check again;

Man, this thread. :lol

I think the biggest problem with TDKR is that everyone had this idea of how it would start, finish, and end. You know, like their own unique views of how it would go down after Batman drives off into the end of TDK.

What was delivered well, isn't exactly that. This isn't a knock on Nolan, his brother or Goyer it's just that the expectations for this was massive from the start. I'd say that their problem lied with trying to go "bigger and better" in every way imaginable. I think if they brought it down a bit, didn't make it so grandiose, I would have enjoyed it more. That's not my main fault with it though. From scene to scene the film is clunky and ridden with plot holes. As more people see it I'll discuss it more but I can see a lot of criticisms and analyses about the absurdness of the story. Specifically of Gotham and the India prison pit. I still can't believe all the early rumors from last year ended up being true. It's like the Twilight Zone or something. Most of that stuff seemed like fan fiction and yet 90% of it ended up being true.

Though I must say, the last 15 minutes or so of the very end really got me pumped, cliched/predictable or not. I really enjoyed it and it made up from the first hour of horrible blandness. I may not like HOW it ended or how the characters end up but, eh, it's not my story. It was fine.

There's also an incredible exchange between Batman and Gordon that is extremely touching. Nothing in this is cry worthy but that moment is something I really appreciate. The silly flashback though ALMOST ruins it.

Bane still sucks though.

Unless you're buying that Batman also took on the physical appearance of Man-Bat, which was also one of the episodes, the point you were trying to make is irrelevant. :lol

Most of those are Bruce, and not Batman, and notice that while the dialogue scenes pre/post fight are clear, the fighting is blurred. This could've easily been done with Killer Croc as well to help sell any fears Nolan might have of him not looking realistic. Hell, he undersized Bane and tried to sell him as the breaker of the Bat. :lol

I loved Gotham Knights. That was one of my most favourite costumes for Batman, beaten only by BTAS, Arkahm Asylum and Year one.

no he didnt, that was just the kids spreading rumors

all Im saying is He fought Croc in the sewers, they made him more human, made him a cannibal, and it didnt really work, batman defeated him really fast, croc was down easily

:goodpost: Yeah, I had my own vision for how I wanted it to end and it wasn't that. But I am satisfied with how it did end. I did also want more Batman in a Batman movie. And more Alfred. I still get a little choked up thinking about poor Alfred in this film. Michael Cain was brilliant.

I also loved the final exchange with Batman and Gordon. Fitting end to their relationship.

The more I think about the movie, the more I am satisfied with it. Which I knew would happen.

For once my theatre is actually having a marathon, and I'm gonna be there till 3am :yess:

I would like to know who all dies.

- Dr. Pavel

- The Steelers

- Mayor Garcia

- Dagget

- Deputy Commissioner Foley

- Bane

- Miranda Tate

There's more but nobody too important. Businessmen, board members, mercenaries and the like.

Have you heard, this new movie, the Batman movie — what is it, the Dark Knight Lights Up or something? Whatever the name of it is. That’s right, Dark Knight Rises, Lights Up, same thing. Do you know the name of the villain in this movie? Bane. The villain in the Dark Knight Rises is named Bane. B-A-N-E. What is the name of the venture capital firm that Romney ran, and around which there’s now this make-believe controversy? Bain. The movie has been in the works for a long time, the release date’s been known, summer 2012 for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental, that the name of the really vicious, fire-breathing, four-eyed, whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane? … Anyway, so this evil villain in the new Batman movie is named Bane. And there’s now discussion out there as to whether or not this was purposeful, and whether or not it will influence voters. It’s going to have a lot of people. This movie, the audience is going to be huge, lot of people are going to see the movie. And it’s a lot of brain-dead people, entertainment, the pop culture crowd. And they’re going to hear ‘Bane’ in the movie, and they are going to associate Bain.

Not one of Rush's better moments.

I think some might try to capitalize on the name coincidence a bit. Certainly not intentional, though ... just a coincidence. And, they won't get much traction out of it ... because its dumb.
