Nice ending to the trilogy. But too many plot holes to bring home top marks. Plus the ending was very sentimental. And the final battle did not live up to the hype of the reviews I've read. Nothwithstanding those minor complaints I still give it 8/10. Going again on Sunday. Maybe those plot holes won't be so noticeable second time round.

This one focuses more on Bruce as the Batman, rather than Batman as Bruce, if that makes sense. In the past, it's almost as if they are two different characters, but this time it's more so they are the same person.

Fyi: Breaking news....it is confirmed that dark knight shooter James Holms did indeed color his hair and told police he is the joker.

I agree I thought the final battle with bane was a bit of a letdown. Was expecting something much better. Their first fight was a lot better. Their first "encounter" though was awesome. Loved that whole scene.

Amazing film - BUT

Too much Bat-plane. Bane's death was so underwelming and HATED HATED HATED the idea of Robin at the end.

That said, I really enjoyed it. Bane was fantastic and

Scarecrow was hilarious

Great points here :lecture

I'm so happy. It was everything I hoped for and more.

But I preferred Bane's original voice to this one.

Just saw it.
Its a Good flick and ties up the trilogy very well. Is it great? no.
Some more observations...
- I liked Bane, they made him look huge, but didnt buy Bats didnt realize his weakness was the mask until the end? It sat on his face like an anteaters' nose!
- Catwoman was great! I didnt think Hathaway would get away with the sexy Selina role, but she pulled it off
- Alfred was solid, and i gotta admit i REALLY like the sobby ending. even the Mentos smile, LOL.
- It looks like Nolan set it up for JG Levitt to pick up the mantle at some later time. The Robin hint was cool.

I was slightly underwhelmed, bordering on disappointed. It was good but not great. I'd give it a B- or so. Worth seeing once. My least favorite of the three. I don't think either of the sequels really delivered on the promise of Batman Begins. Just my opinion.

Wasn't planning on seeing it on opening day but the stars aligned and I scooped a few imax tickets off a pal who couldn't make it:D

As expected for me this is a good movie but no where near the greatness of TDK. I think that film balanced out the action and drama in a movie perfectly, the tension just slowly racking up once the joker starts turning the screws.

I love a good action flick but I think this one just took it too far and aimed far too high, pulling out all the stops because it was the big 'finale'. It feels kinda disjointed from the first two.

I went in spoiler free but in the back of mind I was thinking that a major character would be killed off, to add to the sense of loss and up the stakes, but it never happened. Everyone survives, the baddies die and they skip off into the sunset:slap

Things I liked:

Batman's return with the batpod and EMP gun. Great scene and gets you excited for more. Hostages on motorbikes looked ridiculous though.

Catwoman was well done, like the joker we don't see her back story and we don't need to.

Bruce and Alfred's exchange before Alfred leaves. Powerful emotional scene. Almost shed a man tear.:monkey2

Fight choreography was excellent.

Gripes:

As people have said, Bane cannot carry the film as the main villain, he's like a henchman to someone greater. Joker was lightning in a bottle and outshines in every way. Bane is an asthmatic Sean Connery on roids. I was hoping Bats would smash the mask off his face at the end for some awesome reveal but nope.

ANOTHER movie with the risk of giant bomb destroying city. OH NOES! So TDKR, avengers and spider-man to some extent now ALL share this stupid hollywood ending:gah:

The bat is used far too bloody much, I wanted to see that stupid thing shot down just so Batman would have to get his lazy ass out and use some actual smarts and unleash a master tactician plan to save the city. Guess I just miss the original tumbler, that thing is a beast:(

I agree with others who said the ending would be perfect with just Alfred sitting at that cafe and glancing up. The whole Robin reveal and Bruce playing happy families with Selina is just kinda redundant.

Yeah I was surprised about that. And I agree about the ending.

Another way to look at it is that Bruce really is dead. This is Alfred's fantasy.

My real problem with the films is Bruce's character. He's the dominant persona whereas in the comic medium Batman is. I could never see the latter giving up the cowl to go have an attempt at a "normal" life.
