Re: The Dark Knight Rises

If Ras were to come back, I like the idea of him coming back younger and being played by a different actor; however I don't think he's coming back. I'm afraid if he does the movie is going to be a bit too crowded.

I don't see Batman sitting out any of the movie. Nolan hasn't followed any actual comic lines so far (that I know of) and I don't see him doing it now. I expect to see a different take on Bane based on what people are saying about the actor. I expect that Bane will defeat Batman (since that is his claim to fame). He may grievously injure Bats, but if that is the case I expect we're get a black screen with "One Year Later" and a quick recap of how Gotham has gone to hell without Batman around.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Lieam Neeson already confirmed he is NOT coming back as Ra's. No Ra's people! Talia is just fanboy hopes and dreams like TDK's Harley Quinn. It ain't happening people!

I swear you guys can be so dense at times :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think the younger Ras maybe someway to involve a story line more around bruce's parents, some background. Or could be way off, just don't know what they could do with it otherwise without over crowding it like people say.

Did you look a few posts up? The latest "news" is that Ras will be back in some form.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Could just be a quick flashback to Bruce's training and maybe we'll see Bane was there the whole time, as a student of Ras as well or something. It's out of character but I'd rather have that kind of revenge story then an actual return of Ras.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The film could be like the Godfather Part 2, with flashbacks Ra's Al Ghul's early rise to power at the same time as Bane and Talia arriving in town.

"A friend of a friend" type of reporting doesn't mean squat. According to the National Enquirer stole a Mini Cooper but that doesn't mean its true. And if it is, so what, Liam Neeson still isn't coming back, which means Ra's is dead and having a flashback Ra's doesn't mean Talia will be in this. She wasn't in the first film afterall, but Ra's was. In the end it just goes back to fanboy hopes and dreams.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Personally I don't care for a bunch of forced personal connections in movies. I don't want Bane as a student of Ras (at least not while Bruce is there, maybe I could accept if it is earlier), nor do I want Ras to have some connection to Thomas and Martha Wayne.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Bruce Wayne: You attacked Gotham before?

Ras al Ghul: Of course. Over the ages, our weapons have grown more sophisticated. With Gotham, we tried a new one: Economics. But we underestimated certain of Gotham's citizens... such as your parents.
While there is a possibility he could play Ras... I'm going to take this with some salt until it's confirmed.

Watch this guy have a bit part that's no one important and they think he'll be Ras because he looks like Neeson.

Harley Quinn anyone? :lol

"News" Buttmunch, "NEWS".

The only reason I jumped on your ____ was because you considered three people who were only speculating/sharing info, dense.

At this stage, yeah, nothing is official. But nobody here actually believed "OMG, RAS IS BACK, WILL LIAM BE BACK?". Just reactions to what the latest rumor/news mill is churning out.

And I agree, I've said it before and I'll say it again, Talia feels like a fanboy fabrication, just like Harley Quinn in 2007 and 2008.

I hate that too. Like Anakin building C3PO... UGH. I hope some of these character rumors are put to rest soon because I really don't want 10 bad guys running around. I hate to say it but I have a bad feeling this is going to be a mess of a movie if all these characters are in it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Sounds like Bane of the Demon may be a huge influence on this. The league of Shadows re-emerging sounds like a sensible way to tie off the trilogy.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Ra's Al Ghul's casting seems to be catching on like wildfire even if it isn't confirmed. I hope it is fake, Nolan is slamming too many villain possibilities (I still think we'll get a Cillian Murphy appearance in some form) even for Nolan.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

We're all worried because of Spider-Man 3...but the thing is, Spider-Man 3 had 2 villians already in their line up....Sandman, and New Goblin (I think....it could've been Vulture...or someone else...), and Raimi was forced to shoehorn Venom and all that crap in the movie....so it became too much.

I think if there is a strict plan for TDKR, and reasons for all the villains, I have total faith that the movie will work.

Just my opinion....and stuff.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

More villians, more figures Hot Toys can make

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The article says it would be a flashback scene(s).

Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Bane, Batman wanted for murder (he will *really* be hunted) and how that affects Bruce and Gordon, coming together of themes through out the films, possibly a new mob boss, new DA and assistant DA, and a bunch of other stuff.

The film will mostly be about finishing Bruce Wayne's story and rounding out the trilogy. I don't see how Ras al Ghul coming back from the dead would be necessary to that.

Plus, I can't see Nolan bringing Ras back from the dead (lazarus pit lol wut a twist!). Even if the league returns and Talia is a part of it.

No matter how long and epic the movie is, it could make things really congested. It would shift focus away from what should be and needs to be covered.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Too many villains? Sounds about the same as TDK. Being that it has been stated the WB is giving Nolan his space to make this movie and that they already have plans on rebooting the franchise right after this, I do not think Nolan will be force to add anything he feels will not be necessary. It sounds more that many are becoming upset with the information that is coming out in regards to casting because this will be the last of Nolan's Batman films and certain characters that people want are not being chosen?

I remember when BB came out, my brother had to drag me to go see because I had no faith in it. Once I saw the movie, all my doubts went away. After I saw TDK, Nolan and crew reinforced my belief that they know what they are doing (even though I prefer BB over TDK), as long as WB and producers are giving Nolan his space to do what he wants to do in this movie, I believe it will be a very good movie. Will it be better than TDK or BB? Not sure, but I feel it will be a strong enough movie to be satisfied with.

I think any time there are a bunch of villains in a movie it becomes crowded. It can be done with some of the characters playing minor roles, but otherwise its difficult to flesh out the characters and their motivations etc.
