Re: The Dark Knight Rises

All I'm saying is that I think of Shinzon from Nemesis. He was great in that. I trust Nolans casting decisions without question given his track record.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, the last time a roided out Bane was onscreen it didn't turn out so well...

But at least it looked like Bane :dunno

And before TDK the last time Two-Face was on-screen it didn't turn out so well either.

In both cases, that's Joel Schumacher's fault.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

^^^^^

Classic film icon that will never be forgotten, Eckhart destroyed the role in the crapfest know as TDK.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

From a story POV it's more important that venom makes Bane strong than freakishly huge. As far as I care they can let Hardy look like he does in those pictures. I'd rather not see Hardy look anything like Bane from B&R.

being huge is bane's whole gimmick

Tommy Lee Jones was so over the top, it was ridiculous. I always thought he was trying to be an insane Joker versus Two-Face.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Both Two-Faces didn't live up to their comic character potential.

One had a great introduction "One man is born a hero, his brother a coward. Babies starve, politicians grow fat. Holy men are martyred, and junkies grow legion. Why? Why, why, why, why, why? Luck! Blind, stupid, simple, doo-dah, clueless luck! " but ultimately turned out to be a hyper-crazed maniac.

The other had a great design concept and back story going on but was just an angry, easily influenced man upset that his woman died.

One has traits of duality, but it's mostly pun or joke related while the other is deprived of those traits but things are taken seriously.

Loved Eckharts Two Face but yeah of course I'd love to see a film that delves a lot deeper into his duality

TDK had hints of that - the fact he was known amongst the cops as Harvey two face and his interrogation of the joker thug being cases in point, but I guess Nolan didn't have enough film space to go any deeper into that whole story thread

which might cause some trouble for TDKR with the amount of characters that are being introduced into this movie

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'd rather have a good actor than someone who looks like the character.
