Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah. looking more and more like a sure thing. I think this is what the "in the know" people were talking about when they mentioned a HUGE spoiler a few months back.

So I highly doubt that it's simply a flashback since Pence AND Neeson is involved.

This can mean two things,

1. Ras survived the monorail crash

2. He is immortal, the REAL deal Ras.

Kind of kills the ambiguity in Begins, but EVERY movie messes with canon and plot points so it's inevitable. I just hope there isn't some stupid revelation like most third films have like Bane and Bruce are brothers or Ras Al Ghul interfered and somehow is the reason the Wayne's were killed to make the ultimate vigilante. Leave Batman/Bruce Wayne alone, and I'll buy this. I don't want them ____ing with what Begins established by "going full circle". If Ras is really Bruce's father or Ras was the Joker the whole time some crap like that, I'm out.

That won't happen.

That's the most ridiculous idea I've ever heard. Again, it won't happen. Each films will stand on it's own.

Well obviously those things I listed are a bit extreme. Of course Ras wasn't really the Joker.

Yeah, Ras will most likely not be revealed as the Joker, nor would Gordon reveal that he was indeed Bruce's biological father all along. But do I expect the film to go back to the beginning and have us, the audience discover something that wasn't true from the get go? Yep, you bet.

No film or director is above this, it's inevitable in stories. Even the best story tellers aren't immune to a few oddities here and there. Characters become messiahs, "secrets" are revealed, dumb, uninspired crap happens all the time.

When you're dealing with a character such as Ras, who just so happens to have been in the first installment of the Batman films of THIS series it certainly seems likely that this would be right up TDKR alley.

Cheap parlor tricks.

Just because Pence will be seen in flashbacks doesn't mean that Neeson can't be seen in flashbacks either - albeit at a different point in time obviously.
We'll probably see something like flashbacks of a young Ras discovering and training Bane, then flashbacks of some years after that with Neeson Ras and fully-fledged Bane.
I highly doubt we'll see anything like an immortal, ressurected Ras or that he survived the train crash.

Personally I believe any scenes we see with Neeson in will all be pre-Begins.

Opps, sorry about that mate. Really? You think Nolan will screw up the cannon that he's build in two films? Okay, I don't think so, but fair enough.

Personally, I think Ra's is going to play a huge roll with Bane's youth. I see some flashbacks coming.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

WTF???

The Licensing Expo ends today... and TDKR is there.... are we REALLY not going to get ANYTHING out of this?? I mean, we haven't even really got an official release of the logo which is there. I mean, this is where they rolled out the Batpod back in 07 for god sakes! Come onnnnnn guys! Give us somethin!!

(Also, a proven reliable source on BB and TDK several times over is claiming that the official "First Look" pics of Batman and Catwoman were taken at the same time as the Bane one that was released... and that they are finished and just waiting to be put out there. WELL... do it!)

.... feeling very impatient today ;-)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Just been told, some scenes are being filmed in Nottingham Wollaton Hall, 10 mins away from me, friend and I are thinking of dressing up as Delboy and Rodders in fancy dress and ask to clean the chandeliers :)

Not too sure if other than us Brits get that Joke ;)

Hahaha, that actually put a huge smile on my face. Classic.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

But Inception, The Prestige, Insomnia, Memento etc. aren't part of the Batman films. They aren't trilogies, they aren't extensions of a story or sequels. They're singular films.

My post was directed at what usually happens in "GOOD" and "BAD" films, and books usually a third or a "trilogy" if you will. It's an unspoken formula which most stories go by.

And yeah, I believe Godfather III was directed by Coppola too.

I get what you're saying, but I agree that it is cheap parlor tricks and I think that Nolan is a better storyteller than to fall into a lame trap like that. I could be totally wrong, but it just seems like from the previous movies of his I've seen he doesn't go for a forced connection like that.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'm betting the film opens on Ra's discovering Bane as a child (the Prologue so to speak....). Later we will get a flashback scene that takes us back to the "top of the mountain" and the LoS headquarters in Batman Begins while Bruce is there... we will see Ra's (Liam) leave Bruce and talk with Bane...

If that's the case then I can't wait to see those! Hopefully will be sometime very soon when they're released.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

FINALLY.

First confirmed pic of Bale on set - apparently this pic is 'in character'

Loving the longer hair and his build seems on par with Begins - oh yes!!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Maybe its his Robe that he wears on set while sitting in his trailer , like a smoking jacket . He seems to be wearing sweat pants and sneakers too.
