That shot always takes me out of the movie by reminding me it's not Gotham. You can see Marina City right behind him.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

yeah, he did a great job on it. i think it's cool when the "legit" teasers and trailers get leaked that online, because the crowd gets you so pumped:rotfl

Couldnt agree more. So good hearing how excited the audience get. :rock

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'm looking forward to seeing the posters, I really enjoy well done poster art and all of the Nolan Batman stuff has been some of the more impressive work I've ever seen. I still have the full size poster of this hanging, it's one of my most favorite posters ever, I just love the colors and the composition.

Yeah I'm with ya on that, Sean. Very much anticipating the promotional posters and artwork, though I can't see them topping TDK's, which had Joker and the element of surprise on its side. I don't think anyone was expecting TDK's viral campaign to have so effective.

You know, I still don't like that poster. It totally sends a wrong message. It looks like Batman blew that Batsymbol into the building, especially with the "welcome to a world without rules" tagline. Great image sure, but it totally goes against what Batman is. It makes it look like Batman will do anything at this point - including blowing up buildings and killing people.

But I am definatley looking forward to the posters for this! TDK did indeed have some of the better posters in the last few years!

I didn't get that vibe at all from that poster!

That one is one of my all time favs and has been my iPhone background ever since I got one

Umm, Mr. Buttmunch :lol

Didn't the catholic school church choir boy Batman shoot rocket propelled grenades from his super bike blindly into many many automobiles and just by sheer luck alone did no one die.

Please don't tell me that he first scanned all those cars for life before shooting away like a wild man :lol

Me neither, I always just took it as working the symbol into an chaotic environment that Batman will be thrown into, and I like the angle and everything of Batman in that poster because it gives me a sense of him rising above the challenges he's about to face.

Also, while TDK had some great posters, I don't think they were any better than Begins, I really like those posters too.

These are just beautiful imagery and really convey the solitude of the character.

And this one is just a really nice composition.

Each movie has a weaker one though, I feel it's these. I don't like the blend of the bats and Batman in the Begins poster, and I just don't get anything from the TDK poster, the Joker one in that same style was much better and gave some sense of the character and what lay ahead.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

That last one I actually love because I feel it gives the sense that Batman is imprisoned in his own city or cursed by his own crusade, with the imagery if the bars

I can't wait to see the posters for TDKR

Really curious what colour filter they will employ - I've always thought red, like the red at Dawn, would be fitting

'the night is darkest before the Dawn...'

That fake teaser trailer had the exact colour Ive always had in mind

Although the official logo that was shown at that conference recently was a blueish purple

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The BB posters were good ... but I was a bit bothered that he seemed to be standing in broad daylight in almost all of them. I think the same posters would've been much more iconic if it was clearly nighttime -- lower lit, less "sunlight" looking silhouettes, etc.

Also, they needed a gargoyle poster (or maybe one like the AA concept art in my sig line).

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

While red might be cool, as a marketing choice, I think they'd probably deem it a poor choice, in the psychology of color, red's more inspiring of aggression and things, I think they'll want to stick with more soothing tones.

As far as the film, I'd like to see the tones feel a bit more like Begins, I thought the lighting and tonality of that movie really helped to make all of Gotham feel like another world and not just any town USA.
