Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Actually memory fabric (fabric that becomes a predefined rigid shape when a current I passed through it) is a real thing. The british army is testing it.

My undies have memory fabric.....my wife says that my farts are still there days later. :wave

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah - and I won't be surprised if something along the lines of the Sonar technology depicted in TDK was already being developed.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

There's a documentary on the gadgets from the two films and pretty much all of them exist. I believe the doc is even an extra on the DVD. If not you can watch it on youtube.

Hell, the US military already utilizes high fusion density Rail weapons.....just like in Transformers 2 :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I remember watching this and the Psychology of Batman on the History channel a few days before I saw TDK in theaters,

Those two specials were actually pretty good. They're on the Dark Knight Blu-Ray ... I've been looking for them on DVD as well (to transfer to my AppleTV), but I haven't found them. They may have been included as an exclusive on the Target DVD -- but I haven't confirmed that.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

These were pretty cool, but TDK's Special Features all together were kinda under whelming.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I saw the special and its possible yes have they made it no mythbusters did a grapple gun and the myth was busted they built pulleys that could handle there wait on a large scale couldnt be done small enough to hook on a belt and could not fire hook line into wall deep enough to support one of them let alone 5 cops hanging on side of building

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The cop stunt wasn't with his grapple gun, he wrapped their repelling ropes around there legs and kicked that guy off the edge so they all fell down.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Now that i think about it you are correct but even so the myth was busted

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, Was it just because no wire could withstand the weight or because a gun of that size didn't have the power to do so?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

They had cable that could easily hold there weight it was the gun didnt get th wires to stick into wall it kept pulling out as soon aas they put weight on it also the motor they had to use to pull them at a descent speed was to big for a handgun

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Its not the gun. Its the winch on his utility belt. Watch Batman Begins @ the scene after he gets lit on fire and jumps out the window, after he runs down the Alley, he shoots the grapple gun up an then wraps the wire around that center piece on his belt. I believe its some sorta winch. I could be wrong but check it out if u have the movie

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think I remember that scene the same as you Echo. Oh well though, even though Nolans bat films are in "realism" at the end of the day it is a movie. An awesome movie.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I agree it is a movie and he made it believale i dont care if it can be done in real life batman can do it and for 2 hours i believe he can

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think the word to use to describe any of the stuff Nolan presents in his DK series is: plausibility. Is it plausible for Batman to have a military made body armor suit,is it plausible for him to have a grapple gun to hold his own weight and swing from it if need be etc etc.
