Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Mike. Have you noticed were always online at the same time?:rotfl:rotfl But yeah, Nolan knows how to make it feel very gritty and real. So far his Bat films have had different tones, so I can't wait to see what kind of tone he's going for in this one. It almost seems that it's closers to BB's then TDK's tone from the sets, pics and characters.

Even though Adam West is rumored as a cameo. :sick

Yeah I have.. Im a bit of a night owl, always have been. This is probably one of my biggest anticipations for a film. I love both movies and its almost hard to even admit this but I think I like BB more than TDK, but only by a little bit. I just love all the scenes of Bruces visits with Lucius and him getting closer and closer to become what he becomes ,Batman. Awesome. So yeah if this gonna be in the spirit of BB Im ever more excited. But it really is almost impossible yo tell anything for sure just yet. Nothing is concrete. Its a good thing too because I want to be blown away when I see it. And Adam west doing a cameo????? Ive heard no such thing. Good lord I hope not! I mean c'mon. This doesnt sound like something Nolan would do. Has anyone else heard this?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Websites are going nuts for something called "The Fire Rises" connected to this but link are being taken down quick. Anyone know what they are referring to?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I don't get him I thought the bomb defusing scene in his film was the most intense and darkest I have ever scene.

The Fire Rises is the hidden message in the chanting audio that came up in May on the TDKR official website, once people figured out its a Twitter account and started following it, the Bane image started to appear on the TDKR Website in collage form using the Twitter followers' avatars.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I was always disappointed at the lack of Heath in all of the special features on the bluray. I would love to see some featurettes on his makeup, his portrayal, a tribute etc.

Me too

I think we will see it one day but probably not for some time. I think the lack of all those documentary features is deliberate because Nolan wanted his take on the Joker to be absolute. He is what you see on the screen. Once you start seeing behind the scenes features and see how they put the makeup on him etc, you kind of lose the vision of the character just an absolute chaotic force which is in the film.

Once Nolan's trilogy is done though I won't be surprised if we started to see special editions of TDK with more behind the scenes features.

Cool interview with Mr. Zimmer

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-13964918

“Chris and I do work really well together,” Zimmer told BBC News in a recent interview. “He is my guardian angel when it comes to my music. He protects it tremendously and makes sure it gets heard.”

“When you start the next project you have to forget everything you did before, otherwise Dark Knight will start to sound like Kung Fu Panda,” he added. “I just throw myself into one thing and become a monk. I sit in my room and get grumpy and don’t answer the phone. It’s the only way I know how to do it.”

Zimmer also talked about some of his influences for The Dark Knight Rises’ score:

“I’ve been listening to a lot of Verdi lately. And Alison Goldfrapp, and a lot of electronica as I’m heading into ‘Dark Knight’ territory again. I’ve been in the studio trying out ideas. I’m embarrassingly far advanced. I sent Chris some stuff the other day and he thought it was really unusual that I wasn’t holding the whole thing up.”

“Of course I’ll try to make it different, but I’m not going to abandon the musical language of the previous film. It’s a matter of knocking down some walls and making it broader, wider and more epic.”

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The scores just get better and better. I didn't think BB could get topped but TDK clearly did. I am sure TDKR will follow the same way.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Disagree, I thought Begins had a more memorable soundtrack than TDK.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'm not sure which I prefer but they're both amaizng and instantly memorable.
Then again most of Zimmer's scores are.

Other than the cool 2 seconds worth of music that was used when Joker removed his clown mask and revealed himself to the world, I can't think of anything memorable from the TDK soundtrack.

BB is 100% memorable.

My list of favorite soundtracks are probably no different than most, Star Wars, Superman, Close Encounters, Indy, 89 Batman, Jurassic Park, Terminator.

For me, BB belongs on that list, but not TDK.

But hey, more power to anyone who liked the TDK soundtrack, doesn't make you wrong for liking it. :rock

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Both the bat's soundtracks were equally awesome. But Zimmer's best work goes to Inception hands down. And I'm not just saying that because of the iconic BURRMM BURRMM in the trailers (that was actually composed by Zack Hemsey)
