Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Eh, it is safe to say for me, until he ____s up I will trust him. When he does ____ up, then I will question everything going forward. Why worry about it?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Seriously though, I've NEVER bought into the whole "trust" bull____. Trust what? I've never understood that. Trust him with "your" character? What's the worst that could happen if he made a "bad one". Would it spoil your love of Batman? Would it tarnish Batman Begins or The Dark Knight? .

No, it wont spoil my enjoyment of Begins or TDK but I just want this one to be as good.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, how can you not trust Nolan? :dunno

He set a nice tone with how Gotham City look in Begins with a distinct look, to looking like a boring city that looks nothing like Begins' Gotham with TDK. Now he is going with a totally different look for Gotham for the third? Does he need a new Gotham for every new movie and bat suit?

I figured the city is something that should stay constant but what do I know?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I won't be happy until I get bat shark repellant spray in the style of the tumbler.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

But it's Nolan, so, uh, HAVE FAITH BRO. TRUST NOLAN. He's the best filmmaker of our time, he's never made and will never make mistakes or bad decisions.

____ Batman, this is A CHRIS NOLAN FILM. IT'S GOING TO BE PERFECT. No one should have fears or concerns or question anything. It's alllllll good. ____in bat-copters, it'll work. Why? Nolan and "practicality". The "Gotham Rouges" sounds hokey to ya? NOLAN IS A GOD, that team will have a melodramatic scene that will make you cry, think, and ____ yourself.

TRUST, TRUST, TRUST!

I just don't get it. The man is human. If he makes a bad film, would I suddenly turn on the guy? Hell no. But alas, most fans/fan boys are like that. To these people, directors like Nolan should have a clean track record or else they are considered has beens or old news. So far he's made films I've enjoyed, but I acknowledge that he isn't some god. Personally I think he's probably more humble than his fans make him out to be.

As far as the movie goes, there are a few things that haven't sat right with me, most recently the whole football arena stuff. Some of the casting and that title sort of bothered me but I got past it. I mean yeah, this film will probably be good but come on, it's normal for people to not feel 100% positive about some of the info that's been popping up. To simply say, "don't worry, THE MAN will handle it" is ridiculous. History has shown that it's very RARE that lightning strikes multiple times for most directors and some that were considered great have been brought down.

To think Nolan is beyond that so early in his career makes me wonder what some people are smoking. He's a great filmmaker, no doubt I've loved both Batman films completely so far, but is this guy perfect? NO.

Breath.

Rants are awesome :lol

:exactly: I'm not gonna waste my time worring about something I have no control over.

I won't be happy until I get bat shark repellant spray in the style of the tumbler.

His rant was too long to read. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Was the reaction this retarded when The Dark Knight had a ballerina casting call? That casting sure did ruin that film.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

C'mon guys, let's not believe every rumor that's out there and assume that they are all true and that because of it the movie isn't going to be any good. My God, what's happened to us that we're so terrified of movies being bad? Oh...yeah...the prequels. :lol

Seriously though, a large city like Gotham probably has a college and college usually have football teams, so is it really that far out there for Gotham to have one and for Bruce to go to a game or a villain to target one?

Ras coming back could turn out really bad, but there's no way of knowing that its not a flachback, which I think everyone would be fine with. And even if he does come back from the dead...it's true to the comic character so...

THe Batcopter? Cheesy if you let the TV show taint it, but I find Batman using a helicopter far more logical and realistic than a motorcycle popping out of the tumbler... If traffic is congested its going to slow the tumbler down. It kinda makes sense for Batman to have a mode of transportation that can get him from one side of the city to another. A batcopter is a much better idea than a batplane imo.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Nothing strange about a city having a sports team.

Also nothing strange about the idea of Batman using a helicopter, he could afford a crazy stealth one like the kind we used to kill Bin Laden and as a Helicopter Pilot myself, its not remotely unbelievable Wayne could learn to fly in oh 2 months or less if he really went at it full time maybe less then a month.

But having said that, I do not want to see a Bat Copter no matter how well its handled, it just feels a little too big and incriminating. Also you pretty much have to be retarded as a cop at some point to see that Batman can afford a helicopter like that and not figure out who he is or at least who's funding him. At some point it's going to be out of Gordon's hands when on national TV you have a vigilante with a near billion dollar flying machine, the military is going to get involved.

Wayne manufactured this kind of stuff and while a Tumbler in real life would be expensive its not unbelievable some really good engineer could build it himself stealing parts etc.

But a random no one getting a hold of a BatCopter, something like that with stealth tech would cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Theres literally no way they wouldn't track that back to the richest most eccentric billionaire in Gotham.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I dunno, I think Bruce and Lucius could "lose" a helicopter and cover it up should the police ever look into it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

A random helicopter with a turbine worth a few million, sure easily.

But again the technology to make it stealth, and not detectable by any radar, nope, your talking hundreds of millions and a government contract.

And without that they simply see that the heli took off and landed from Wayne Manor and he goes to jail. If he didn't spend alot of effort keeping things grounded in reality I'd say who cares but this is a differant kind of movie and that would hurt all that effort in my book.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Okay, fair points, I'll confess I can't argue a counterpoint to them, but I do think it would still be doable. I just can't think of a way.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Anne Hathaway is at the Wimbledon final. Looks very skinny :(

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

No, but it was just about this retarted when Heath Ledger was cast. And yes I see the irony in my own reply. :)

Throughout history Gotham City has not only had a College team but also a professional NFL team.

The Batcopter? Cheesy if you let the TV show taint it, but I find Batman using a helicopter far more logical and realistic than a motorcycle popping out of the tumbler... We can all except the Batwing from the Burton movie and just say "Yeah, he has one, so what?" then a copter isn't out of the realm of possibilities.

Wayne manufactured this kind of stuff and while a Tumbler in real life would be expensive its not unbelievable some really good engineer could build it himself stealing parts etc.

People have built the tumbler, while I haven't seen one go up a wall or jump rooftops, the basics are easily done by regular folks, so the Tumbler isn't really that astonishing.

But a random no one getting a hold of a BatCopter, something like that with stealth tech would cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Theres literally no way they wouldn't track that back to the richest most eccentric billionaire in Gotham.

Maybe they go the Batman Inc. route and Wayne admits to funding Batman but not being Batman and that is what causes the issues for Bruce in this one?

But again the technology to make it stealth, and not detectable by any radar, nope, your talking hundreds of millions and a government contract.

I'm not sure you'd have to assume a government contract, there are tons of great technological advances that have nothing to do with the government.

And without that they simply see that the heli took off and landed from Wayne Manor and he goes to jail. If he didn't spend alot of effort keeping things grounded in reality I'd say who cares but this is a different kind of movie and that would hurt all that effort in my book.

What if it's a Tumbler conversion? The opposite of the Batpod move? Take off would be less of an issue. Not exactly the most realistic but since this is Nolan's last run at this, I wouldn't put it past him to just go for it.

Id argue that its harder to avoid the cops with a car. How many people have ever managed to get away from the cops during a police chase (and keep the car)? In real life once they are on your tail you are done, especially when they get a helicoptor involved as in the first movie.

However an airial vehicle is much harder to track and you can easily make an escape with no one to follow you.
