Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Id argue that its harder to avoid the cops with a car. How many people have ever managed to get away from the cops during a police chase (and keep the car)? In real life once they are on your tail you are done, especially when they get a helicoptor involved as in the first movie.

However an airial vehicle is much harder to track and you can easily make an escape

Not necessarily. I live about 2 miles from the hospital, but I'm in the landing patern, so the chopper passes above my house everyday 3-4 times and you can hear it and feel it coming even if I have a movie on full blast. When I first learned to fly we use to keep at 800 feet asl in the pattern to avoid noise complaints from the farmers below. As for an easy escape, Maguire Air Force Base or AC could have a jet to a location inbetween where I live within 5 minutes. That kind of response is now standard in the U.S. in case they ever need to shoot down a flight.

I live a few miles away from a hospitol myself and am in fact directly under the place that lifestar helicoptors "park" in the air when waiting for a call. You can barely if at all hear anything on a quiet night even if you are listening for it.

Wayne Manor is pretty isolated, so should be a good enough place to take off and land the batcoptor withoutout anyone noticing. Sure people in the city would know when it is taking off, but with few if any options of following the coptor it would be able to make its eascape.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Can't wait to laugh at the skeptics on 20th July 2012 :)

So people should just accept everything and anything without qualms or question? As far as the conversations go here people are just voicing and speculating possible faults. I don't see any "oh woe is me, this film is going to suck" posts. Some information that is revealed is well received while other information is not. It's as simple as that.

Personally, I don't think this film will suck. From what has been revealed, I'd say I like more than I dislike but I don't think there's anything wrong with voicing doubt. Anything could happen.

Back during the pre-TDK days I wasn't too happy about the filming in Hong Kong. I felt and still feel that the story should have remained in Gotham (despite how awesome the Batman sequence is where Batman captures Lau). Didn't like it then (seeing those leaked pics of Bruce and Fox at Hong Kong), don't really like it now. Did it ruin the movie for me? Hell no but it's a qualm that became a reality none the less.

I think there are way too many extremists when it comes to these Batman films. People hardly take the middle ground. It's either everything is "doom and gloom" and this film is destined to suck because Anne Hathaway is too skinny or the Batsuit isn't cool enough OR it's the best film ever that deserves to win a best picture oscar because that movie god, Nolan is at the helm and can do no wrong.

Both sides are far too opinionated.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah I agree both sides are too opinionated - I'm enjoying the buildup and every little piece of news were getting and I am self admittedly hyped to the point I think this is going to be the best trilogy ever made! But obviously I'm on one extreme here

I am in your camp untill proven other wise. HA HA

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

there is a reason why you guys are at home and nolan is directing batman. he is better than you are it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Maybe Batman will meet Catwoman while she is addicted to crack and she's stealing to feed her habit, hence her having to be skinny. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Here you go folks, Selina and Bruce going for a walk. They're going to their waiting helicopter to be flown to the football game :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Well said! Nothing takes me more out of a film then bad CGI.

I agree whole heartedly. I especially hate when they do CGI zombies. Nothing beats good old make up and appliances effects for those.

BAT-COPTERS.... oh dear God no.

I dunno dude, think how absurd "bat-car" sounds. Ill be honest when I first heard it I thought it was kinda hokey sounding too but then I thought of all the past "bat stuff" Nolan modernized for this franchise. I think he'll do it justice and make it work for his vision of batman.

A helicopter doesn't strike me as inherently any goofier than a bat-cycle ... which turned out pretty badass.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, how can you not trust Nolan? :dunno

He set a nice tone with how Gotham City look in Begins with a distinct look, to looking like a boring city that looks nothing like Begins' Gotham with TDK. Now he is going with a totally different look for Gotham for the third? Does he need a new Gotham for every new movie and bat suit?

I figured the city is something that should stay constant but what do I know?

Are you asking if he is giving Gotham a different look or are you making a statement that he is doing so? Personally I never really got all complaining about what Gotham looked like in TDK. I thought it fit with the movie fine although, yes, I like it more in BB.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Nolans films have been based on plausability that it one day can be possible a cape that turns into a glider with an electrical current is plusable not possible so batman owning a helicopter is believable as him owning a tank but nolan pulls it off

Couldn't agree more, quite a few things in Batman's world wouldn't go unnoticed in reality, but seem totally believable when seeing them in the comics or even the new films.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I saw that video like a week ago and thought, man thats a great atmosphere... old building, rain... moody... just like batman..
