Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I think that is why so many people think it will be Riddler and/or Catwoman. Villians like Freeze, Ivy, Clayface, Man-bat, etc are all too fantastical for Nolan's setting. Bane would be a maybe depending on how they approach him. He would only be able to be a roid monster big and strong. Not Superman strong like in the comics/cartoon.

I think Black Mask filling in the mob boss role in this film would really work. It would show the effect Ras,Scarecrow,Joker, and Batman had on them. Now they too are resorting to masks, etc. So if they don't use him for at least the Mob spot, that would be a missed opportunity.

But other than that, likely villians would be:
-The Riddler
-Catwoman
-Bane
-The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp reprise anyone? :lol)
-The Ventriloquist
-The Penguin

Or the returns of
-Scarecrow
-Ras Al Guhl
-Joker
-Two-face

At least two of those are long shots and Joker a strong maybe. Scarecrow might as well show up so he can be in all three films. But in terms of Batman's realistic villians, they are running short on big names now. Riddler, Peguin, and Catwoman would probably be the big three that could carry a movie with the others as possible side villians like Scarecrow and Two-face were.

you forgot killer croc

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Don't forget though, even if there is some supernatural element to them in the comics, I wouldn't say it would be bad or beyond Nolan to use those villains but alter them so that it's a realistic character with the personality traits of their supernatural form. I think Nolan and his writing team could come up with a way to turn any Batman villain into a realistic and believable character within their world, might not meet the hardcore fans' vision of what the character should be, but if it makes for an interesting movie I could see him doing it.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

This one is pretty cool.

Where did the title "Gotham City" come from?

Don't think I like that.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

That one above kind of reminds me of a Got Milk ad.:lol

They all look phenomenal.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Black Mask makes the most sense. Especially considering that the origins of the character has direct ties to the Wayne family and not Batman and it continues the Mob substory. Black Mask can be turned to a more realistic showing and he has a direct issue with Catwoman in the modern comics so its a great way to tie her in as well.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I think it will be Clayface. Because it is exactly the opposite of what everyone expects.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I think a take on clayface can work. Two-Face's damage wasn't that realistic in the movie.

Thanks. Gotham City is just the title I decided to use...it's not based on anything other than my opinion of what could work.

I appreciate it, thanks. :D

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

And then Benjamin Ciaramello is listed right below him as rumored. IMBDB will post any bits they hear just to fill out the page more.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

lol, IMDB sure in't a place for any confirmation.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I still want to know where Gotham City came from....so many people use it..yet it makes zero sense. How do you go from Batman Begins, to The Dark Knight, to Gotham City?

I want to understand this thinking.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

:dunno Makes no sense to me either.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

It's a horrible title (for this series). Thankfully, it's just fan-'stuff'. :D

Batman Begins makes sense because it's about the origin of Bruce Wayne becoming Batman.
The Dark Knight has a double meaning. First it's again about Batman and secondly, I think it's about the ending of the movie.
It can be looked at differently by others.

Those titles are more personal.

Whoever came up with Gotham City wasn't thinking about that. It's too broad and disconnected.

Besides hearing what the next movie will be about and who the new villain(s) are, etc-etc. I'm interested to see the title.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Yup, the titles so far have been tied to the particular Batman story of each and in theory, so should the 3rd. Though generic titles are tolerable, the worst thing in movies for me though, is when the title is forced into the dialogue of the movie, it usually comes off as very cheesy and lame, like Deep Blue Sea :lol
