Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yep and then all of those push ups, the kind that helped lift a "bloody log". :lol

I know people are loving the hell out of Bane, but for me my investment is in the character of Batman. To me, Bane is just this obstacle to improve/further develop the characterization of Bruce Wayne/Batman. It's not like how it was in 2007/2008 where I was all hyped up about The Joker vs. Batman (in that order).

Hopefully this one goes back to the spirit of Batman Begins, which so far it seems to be doing.

:exactly:

I'm excited for Bane, but this IS going to be Batman's movie this time around.
Well, for me at least :)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I still can't believe cat woman will be in this movie, especially with Anne Hathaway playing that role...but I am really excited to see Marion Cotillard, she is a superb actress :lecture

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I guess they went with practical effects to make Bane look taller than Bats. Just look at his legs here. Could be the angle, but it looks like they had him wear special boots.

i actually read that hes wearing lefts while filming

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

OMG MAN.. these set pics are exactly what i was hoping for! i already know i'm going to love the cinematography for this movie already.

Same here, from a storytelling perspective, it makes sense for the 2nd film to take a little less focus on the hero and more on what he deals with, but part 1 and 3 focusing on how he starts and part 3 really estabilshing himself.

Yeah, plus he picks himself up and 'Rises'

Btw that pushup scene IS bale, and yeah I'd bet it's in act 2 while he's re-training himself

Hope so, I'm very eager for this, just hope my expectations for this sort of thing aren't let down again, I though with how Begins was, TDK would cover Bruce dealing and coping with Joker and all more, still a good movie just didn't have something in it I would have liked.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Hmmm, why 8 and not 5, 7, 10 or 15 years after TDK.

There's got to be a specific story reason why 8 was chosen, I wonder what it is.

I think Bane is going to be Rachel Dawes brother, Bane Dawes :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Well Bruce disappeared from Gotham for 7-8 years in Batman Begins. They're probably going for that symmetry/bookend stuff I mentioned above.

Or as George Lucas likes to call it, poetry.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Depends, if it is, it's much more expanded than in Begins, but I'd say, one way or another, that shot is from the scene shown in the teaser, you see Batman wet moving back from Bane.

Maybe
Bane found the Batcave and attacked unnoticed?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Maybe it's because of my Rocky fandom, I just like having to see a hero rise, be vulnerable, I don't like them being invincible, even if it's just being down in a fight and coming through to win, I find that more interesting. As far as Batman movies go, my favorite scene in all of them is still the cathedral fight in '89, I love that Batman is near dead and still gets up, climbs all those stairs, gets his ass kicked, and yet keeps fighting. Bale's Batman hasn't dealt with anything like that, YET, but as good a storyteller as Nolan is, I'm wanting him to do something like that with Batman.

Also, along the lines of Rocky, there is that teaser shot of someone doing pushups, I really think it's Wayne as part of his come back, which would be a great Rocky moment, and we know from TDK, Nolan does draw inspiration from other films.

I hope he won't continue with the jogging part. :lol

Rocky = Batman and Clubber Lang = Bane

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The fight scenes between Bane and Bats look so intense...Can't freaking wait :panic::panic:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Dayum... Too much awesomeness today!!! The "Come ON! Bring IT!" pic of Bane staring down Bats is just perfection!

But one thing - in reading through various message boards and websites regarding the info that was released today, I haven't once heard someone echo what I believe will happen in the film. And I don't think its a crazy assumption either...

People seem to be fixated on this "8 years later" thing. I don't understand why people believe the film will START 8 years after the end of The Dark Knight. I've long believed the film would pick up shortly after Batman flees the GPD after Harvey's death and shortly thereafter Bane will arrive and mess Batman up. Whether he breaks his back or something else, I believe Batman will be out of commission. I've felt this for months, and today's news just makes me believe it all the more... now we know how long Batman will be away from Gotham for. And when he returns, 8 years later, Bane is running Gotham and Batman is finally the hero the city needs, and the one it wants. And then all out war breaks loose between Bane and Bats. And somewhere in there, there's a cat.... :)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I've mentioned Exactly that before and after the 8 yrs was announced :)
That's exactly how I see things going down, give or take
