Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

The only instance i can recall of Batman killing anyone is Joker in The Dark Knight Returns.

I thought the Joker broke his own neck to frame Batman?

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

that's the only story where batman ever killed the joker

I think he did it so batman couldn't

So he didn't? Which is it? :rotfl

Batman has killed in other comics too. I don't know what's considered canon or what have you but I found a pretty cool article about it after doing some searches,

https://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/03/22/batman-kills-murderer/

Keep in mind, I'm not saying I prefer him taking lives or anything like that. I'm just arguing there are multiple versions of Batman. Yeah, we might think some are stupid and we might not like it but they're all valid to Batman lore. Without one we might not even have the one we enjoy since they evolve and build off each other.

I can enjoy a code honoring Batman and a killing one. Who cares? No need to get serious and defensive about it.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

In Batman Begins Bruce Wayne was about to kill Joe Chill in cold blood? Did he kill him?

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Thread Title Change to the horrible one Nolan chose. :impatient:

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

batman had joker down and was about to

He almost killed the Joker. He didn't finish the job and so Joker broke his own neck.

If I recall correctly, Chill got taken out by a mob hit before Wayne could shoot him.

I said about to. Of course Wayne didn't kill him. If the hit woman didn't though, Bruce would have shot him.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Exactly. But he didn't and he learned something from it.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

So glad to finally hear progress in this movie. I'm on the fence about the name, but I also didn't like the "Begins" moniker at first either. Regardless, I'm not going to avoid the movie because I don't like the title.

~~As for the Black Mask...I'm cool with it. Keeps the ongoing gang theme with the other movies.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Glad we got some new information on the movie. The title is fine, it represents what the movie will be about in my opinion (Batman's redemption).

Really hope we get a scene of Heath at some point (preferably at Arkam Asylum).

I am also very happy that Nolan has decided to go with IMAX again, and not 3D. :bow

Between this and The Hobbit, I have a couple movies to look forward too again. :rock

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Good thing you didn't see the Burton films then.

:lol Yeah, in those movies, Batman liked to bully people with disabilities. First he used his bat grapple to bring a dude with bleached skin "down to his level", and then he picked on a 4ft penguin with no hands, not to mention he hit a woman (he's a woman beater, too!?)...I guess that Michael Keaton was not so heroic after all, when you look back and think of all the "heroic things he's done". Maybe that's why he dropped out of Batman Forever when he found out he'd in-directly kill, Harvey Two Face, and have The Riddler committed. Just wasn't enough fun for him, he wanted a killing spree!!

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Burtons Batman was mainly revenge based, Schumacher's Batman was based on a retarded acid trip. Where as Nolan's Batman is based on doing the greater good. He didn't kill Ras because it was Ras' actions that lead to the ended of his life. As for Ras coming back, if they went that route, it would be someone new who's taken the name of Ras. That was set up in 'Begins' when Neeson says Ras is just a name. As for Two Face both Chris Nolan and his Brother have stated in interviews that he's dead. Now for the new film, since Nolan has ruled out a few of the other well known villains my guess would be Blackmask, Deadshot, Firefly, and Catwoman. The four of them are the only other known/ semi-known villains left in his main rouges gallery that could fit into Nolan's "reality" based universe. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if it was at least three of them seeing as how each film has had more then one villain.

Here's a link to check out all of Batman's villains. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_villains
