Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'd love to be driving that 89 Batmobile. Such an awesome car, heck I'd want to own both :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Nice job dude! Im thinking if some concepts myself

I like the shirt D. :dunno

And I love the design, DiFabio. I'd prefer it without the villains and extend the bats all the way down to lose the skid mark appearance. I wonder what the final design will look like at the fast rate these things are rejected.

Edit - Take it back, love Bane in there.

I'd buy it. Maybe make all the bats (teh skidmurkz) form another batlogo? instead of just spreading around the shirt.

I like the design but when it translates on to the shirt the layout and contrast give it a tire tread mark look.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Appreciate the comments.

I guess it does sort of look like a tire skid from a distance. I would imagine a high quality printout on a shirt would be better though.

They actually encourage people to use artsy layouts that utilize all of the shirt. The bats were going to go around the shoulders and the back. I saw a lot of their non-batman designs were using it.

But yeah, it got declined because obviously I used some official pics of Bane and Catwoman. Not sure why they wouldn't be allowed. I even sent in an image of hand drawn images using reference but I guess that doesn't count either. I've done some 100% illustration work of my own (why do we fall . . . ) and it got declined too. Other designers are having the same issues with them as well. Oh well. From what I've seen, my own pics and what others have done, they look better than what WB puts out which are essentially just poster images printed out on shirts. Not sure what these folks are looking for. I thought voting was involved, not instant declines. Whatever.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, that is stupid. Especially since they will only accept t-shirts with THE OFFICIAL BATLOGO, and not a drawn one. Doesn't make sense why you couldn't draw from official pics and screens.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Perhaps because they're looking for a concept like this:

I think either of these could easily win if submitted by the creators

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

A lot of these contests are BS anyway. I remember one a while ago to design a movie poster and the winner just plugged a bunch of movie stills into a program to make one of those photo mosaic images.

I like your design, Difabius!

Funny story about that. The people that made those showed them at SHH (the first one) and they got rejected too. There were some good ones that involved Bane as well that were hand done drawings with nice water colors that got the axe.

You submit your work, then you get a submission receipt then a few hours later it almost seems automatic, you get this refusal email.

I want to see what eventually makes it. I'd buy those images above don't see why these aren't "meeting standards".

The logo is wrong too. I noticed the tiff file they included has a weird, elongated head and ears. It ain't the official one, I know that for sure. Better off not using any logo.

https://www.joblo.com/movie-news/the-dark-knight-rises-test-screening-receives-a-standing-ovation

Christopher Nolan is the ultimate tease. We have been surviving on scraps of information regarding THE DARK KNIGHT RISES for months now. It has reached the point that it is considered movie news when a small thumbnail image of the media material for the movie tie-in toys is a headline. The question that remains, however, is whether the movie is going to be as good as we all hope it will be?

THE DARK KNIGHT had its own fair share of haters, but reports from a screening held for Warner Bros. execs apparently ended with a standing ovation. MTV erroneously reported that the film was four hours long (which they have since retracted), but I am sure it likely clocks somewhere between two and a half to three hours. This is the final chapter after all.

Rumors have also begun circulating that THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will be screening at San Diego Comic Con, which takes place one week before the film opens in theaters. That would certainly be a fitting tribute to comic fans who have shown Nolan nothing but the highest praise and support through his career.

The most recently revealed plot of the film comes from a film cell that reads "When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman's legacy piece by piece."

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Good to hear, good to hear.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Submit it. The worst they could do is decline it.

Want me to put it on a model shirt? :lol

That it is. A standing ovation? That's pretty hard to get out of executives.

I am so going to win that contest :yess:

DO IT!!!!!!! :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

A standing ovation? Bull____. BULL____.

They didn't use the Bay script. I can't imagine this film would be good without it!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Eh. :lol

I don't like the idea much either. But I get it. And it is a smart move. If they want to make a profit.

Doesn't mean it's good. But still. You never know. It might work. :dunno
