Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I did not say that - I said you can make a good guess at constructing it from watching the trailer/ the trailer gives you a very good idea of what is happening.

You could say the same for the TDK trailer, yet most guesses were way off the mark back then

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Dark Knight = most excited I've ever been for a film.
Dark Knight Rises = currently 'meh' and I am a huge Batman fan.
It doesn't look anything special from the trailers; most of the photos so far have been pretty rubbish; I'm not bothered about Catwoman/don't like Anne Hathaway; and Bane really doesn't look anything special at the moment. I hope I eat my words.

That sums up my feelings exactly.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I was just kidding about the Nolan films not being Batman, obviously.

There are things I'm excited about and looking forward to with this film, but not all of it. The thing that irks me the most is seeing people that claim they've figured it all out and post fanboy jargin about what's supposedly going to happen. I know I shouldn't read it but every piece of speculation (usually from "close sources") about the story and characters thus far have been pieces of ____, especially the themes. I don't see how you could even analyze and get into deep, discussions about something with what little info we have so far. When you start getting into philosophical crap about a movie that's 4 months away by dissecting it and making obnoxious claims that it's oscar worthy material, well, that pisses me off. Oh, and gushing about every element of the film. That pisses me off too.

I'm a little pissed and sleep depraved if you couldn't tell.

Well, you might as well have man. I'm sure there's more going on that you think.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Well that's your interpreted opinion and that's fine by me :)

Well considering there's been more going on then when what we've seen in the trailers from BB and TDK, I'd say it's a pretty solid bet that I'm right.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'm not super excited for this film either. I'm more more ecstatic about The Avengers. But maybe as we get closer it will hit me. Nolan hasn't let me down. I'm sure he's got some badassery in store for us.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Cheers :)

Nolan's Batman is a sort of diluted Batman I think. The real world setting seems to be hindering it now think. It was new and exciting in Begins, didn't matter in TDK cause we all just focused on the Joker. But now - the trailer for Rises just seems...like any other action film. It doesn't shout anything special - Batman is hardly in it and it just seems bland. I really, really hope I am wrong.

as for the plot - someone said it earlier: Bruce isn't Batman anymore, Bane terrorises the city, Tries to take him on but after lack of practice gets beaten up, goes back to LoS to retrain, comes back and defeats Bane - all whilst Catwoman has this air of mystery surrounding her blah blah. From most clips in the trailer you can make a very good guess at starting to construct the plot.

I really think that was the Point of the Trailer, specially since there has been so little marketing, The Dark Knight and the Joker were all over your face, marketing was all over the place,
It's pretty Obvious Nolan has something really big in store for the end, so he is waiting to blow people's minds, I can totally see Nolan doing this on purpose, the fact that people don't care, then the movie comes out and BAM! slaps everyone in the face son!

I love how people think they have the whole plot figured out by watching a 2:00 trailer. People thought the same thing when they saw TDK trailer. They were wrong. Unlike alot of directors in Hollywood, there's more to Nolan's films then what you see in the trailer.

right, and, at 3 hours movie, yeah, things are going to go haywire

I hope you're wrong too. I was very much like this with TDK. I was all against Ledger as Joker, and the leaked pics....especially of the new suit had me ready to hunt people down with a pitchfork. After seeing TDK for the 3rd time in the theater I realized that Nolan knows what he's doing.

:exactly:

And what?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

:exactly:

And what?

what I mean is that everyone is saying they dont care about this movie anymore,
and that they cared more for the Dark Knight, and this movie doesn't have as much marketing, no new trailer, is like under the radar, and a lot of people are losing interest,
but I could see how this is being done on purpose, so that when it does come out is going to hit everyone hard

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think that the very little they're showing people can work just as well as the full-blown A-Bomb that was the TDK marketing campaign. Right now, people know the villains, and that there's a new Batman coming out, and that's all that it takes to "start the fire.":lol

People as in us?

I asked at the office today and not one person knew anything about a new Batman movie.
