Ill be at opening night for Batman and Prometheus I'm just not getting my hopes up for either. Avengers will be like a monday morning second week its out empty theatre movie for me.

You guys hearing these rumors that the new trailer is attached to that new Depp/Burton film in May?

Looks like the new trailer may be attached to Dark Shadows (May 11)

That's what I've been hearing too. Any actual news on it though, or just speculation?

I'm not claiming to know the whole plot, but everything I mentioned is confirmed if you follow the spoilers.

I can see why it wouldn't be worth your time though, it seems you have alot of 90s flicks to catch up on like Austin Powers and The Mask. Eagerly awaiting your Dirty Work starring Norm McDonald picture reply.

Plus, Nolan seems to be going the greek myth "epic" route. So the complete circle of him becoming batman etc would make sense.

Hence the "Legend" in the tagline.

In terms of storytellling and plot, character development, acting, etc, it's a no brainer that TDKR will be the better movie in every conceivable way.

And gigantic godzilla ball sized kudos to everyone involved for not dumbing down and whoring out TDKR in every imaginable way in order to compete with the Avengers marketing campaign.

Yes, I do admire that. Takes balls. I think it shows they know they have a winner, they don't need to whore it out.

Does Nolan do "optimistic"?

Memento, nope.

Insomnia, nope.

Batman Begins, kinda.

The Prestige, nope.

The Dark Knight, nope.

Inception, nope.

I actually thought Inception ended on a really optimistic note. But I guess i'm in the camp that believes it was not all just a dream.

With regards to TDKR, my feeling is that it will end on a bittersweet note (e.g. retirement with Gotham in good shape or death with Gotham in good shape), so its up to the viewer what they feel at the end. So yeah, perhaps similar to Inception's ending.
