Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It'll be cool to see how Batman operates being Gotham's most wanted. I expect scenes similar to the beginning of TDK except this time traps to ensnare Batman. I can just see the Gotham Tonight News and scene montages now.

Criminals should also fear Batman again considering he apprehended the Joker, wanted by the authorities, and appeared to have killed Harvey Dent.

This is a good point. No matter where you fall on the "did he or didn't he?" the criminal element thinks he did, and nobody is going to test his "one rule" ever again.

:lol

This thread really went off of the rails. I have no idea what is being posted as actual news and what is being posted as fanboy analysis....

Yeah, don't worry.

So far we have confirmation that Christopher Nolan directing, Tom Hardy is going to be a part of the cast, Zimmer is scoring the film and the title is The Dark Knight Rises. I'm sure you know that already though so nothing has changed.

Other than that these posts are full of analysis, debates, speculation and other BS, most of my posts included.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

No, corporations can be evil.
of course it can. and in a city like gotham, where crimes run rampant, the mobs run things, and police and politicians are paid off, you think a corrupt corporation can exist in such environment? one real life example is enough to make it look real for a fictional story.

These last couple of posts make Batman seem really, really boring. The character has arguably the best and most fascinating rouges gallery but it's limited to a few choices, most of which are mob members and businessmen? Shame.
the last 2 films have mobs and bad businessmen. just because you have them in the story doesnt mean you can't have your usual comic book villain as well.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

look. so far all the villains in nolan's films have been the bat's villains. none are bruce wayne's villains. how about now we have your comic book villain pit against the bat, but at the same time we have some business dude to pit against bruce as well? then it turns out that business dude and that comic book villain dude are working together, and bruce's and bat's enemy is one and the same. what's wrong with double threats like that? throw in a new police task force whose sole mission is capturing the bat, throw in the mobs, throw in catwoman, i think all those elements put together ought to give batman a big headache.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I like the idea of multiple threats, and the corporation angle has already been introduced with the Hong Kong company. I just don't want this movie turning into Erin Brokovich, or some such garbage.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

This discussion about corporations and companies makes me wonder what happened to Earle from Batman Begins. He could have been a possible threat to Bruce Wayne.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

only if you mean erin brockovich with car chases, fighting, shooting, explosions, and of course, one sexy lady in tight kinky black leather with a bullwhip. :lol

the corporate angle has been introduced since the beginning. remember the rutger hauer character in begins? nolan just never got to fully explore its potential. he only skimmed it in both films. if the threats come to batman and bruce wayne at the same time, the dude can find no safe refuge. hunted by night, losing his father's legacy by day. add in the cops, mobs, a wildcard in catwoman, a hitman in the employed of the corporation, the bat will have the hardest time running.

:yess:

thank you. now i can get some shut eye. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

i have been reading rumors about Clayface...

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I heard Killer Croc is in it!

Also, they casted The Riddler!!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I still think Rachel in TDK was Clayface doing his first impression of a woman. He almost pulled it off.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

More like puddingface ammirite.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

the clayface rumor came about because two characters have been confirmed to appear in the story: one is detective sarah essen(gordon's love interest in batman: year one), and the other is julie madison(once enganged to bruce wayne). now, in the comic julie madison is an actress that was targeted by basil karlo aka the original clayface, hence the rumor spread about clayface being the possible main villain.

then someone from entertainment weekly also publicly made a (stupid)case for clayface. frankly i think that someone from ew have been watching too much schumacher's bat films and his brain is now affected. clayface in nolan's bat film is as likely as a godzilla in a scorsese film.

edit:
these girls are rumored to have auditioned/approached for the parts:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I recognize Charlize Theron ... who are the other two? Is the middle one the girl from The Departed?
