Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Okay, the way Bane intonates when he says, "Your punishment must be more severe.", he sounds like Gordon Liu. :lol Plus, he doesn't look threatening at all. The Joker's persona was bigger than the Batman in TDK, imo. With only a potato peeler, he made the Bat run helter-skelter. I hope in the movie Bane will turn out to be different.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Also, side note. Is that the CO from Prison Break in the background?

Yup, that looks like Wade Williams (Brad Bellick on Prison Break). He's great at police roles, so hopefully he has some lines in this film.

Oh yeah, and the trailer looks all sorts of awesome sauce.

You must be watching a different trailer. The 'your punishment must be more severe' and 'I am Gotham's reckoning' totally hit the spot for me.

And the way he is standing there waiting for Batman on that bridge/ramp... :thud:

Same trailer. His dialogue doesn't work as well for me either.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Well, the way his pitch goes high when he says "severe" makes him sound like a chinese. :dunno Maybe he was supposed to sound sarcastic in that statement and the mask made sound like that.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

To me it's not so much the voice itself [though I prefer the first one] but the dialogue doesn't seem to match up with him in the scene. I don't know if it's just bad dubbing, or with the score it'll sound better but it just seems off.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

To me perhaps that's exactly why I like it, it's different, it's somewhat off, it's unexpected... and all that makes it quite unnerving for me. I would hate to find myself anywhere near that guy. He looks like he could explode any second

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

sounds awesome to me as well, he sounds great, so scary at times,

i think catwoman looks great, and is great, she is going to be amazing,

is funny because this time the two villains will be in the movie from the beginning,
two-face was at the end of TDK, and Ras at the beginning and end of begins, but this time both villains will be in the movie a lot. well and catwoman changing sides,
that has me really excited,

is also funny how catwoman wont be the love interest it seems, that will be Marion Cotillard, from looking at the trailers, which is a nice change, she might become batmans help but not love interest, i like that,

but, if she helps batman, doesnt that make her like batgirl in a way?

Well, if you really want to know about Miranda...

Miranda Tate = Talia Al Ghul

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

so that's confirmed?
lol poor bruce lol,
still, i like the feeling that catwoman is not really a love interest,
first we read that she works as a maid and now from the trailer we just get the feeling of just an ally,
i hope they dont make her love bruce or something,

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Just watched the trailer. :rock

Yet I am still missing Joker.

Didnt make it to Hamburg yesterday as I didnt get he day off. Anyway... Will go there some time this week and at least get a pic of the symbol. I dont believe they will be removed very soon. :)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Looks great. Not keen on the cgi for the batwing, kind of took me out of it for a second but I suppose that was necessary.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Pretty sweet to wake up to this this morning. Superb trailer. So pumped for this film. Love bane already.

"You've given them everything."

"Not everything. Not yet"

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Latest trailer is great. I am really enjoying Bane's classic villain voice. Much better now that we can actually make out what he's saying.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I love how Nolan had taken Ledger and everyone was WTF,why cast him???and then he does the unbelievable in the TDK and owns the character.
Then a few ppl early on where like WTF-Hathaway as Cats and Hardy as Bane....
I know this will be an awesome movie.
Good casting, good story, good soundtrack...and having seen the Avengers...this WILL have to be an awesome movie to top that.

and im sure it will.

either way-we are spoiled this yr for awesome movies in our genre,Avengers,TDKR,The Amazing Spiderman...The Hobbit...and so on....so yeah,we all win...

and so do HT ;)

Well said! Enjoy them all for what they are!!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Trailer was great and has got me very excited :)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

To me, this trailer hits all the right notes. It conveys enormous scale and a foreboding sense of finality. Bane has presence and his threat is tangible. Catwoman/Selina comes across as cold and in control - playing whatever side to meet her needs. (I think Hathaway will nail this role.) Gordon, Fox and Alfred all appear worn and on the verge of losing hope. Blake clearly has a part to play although I can't quite figure out his place yet.

I'm glad Nolan is making this film - it feels different and separate from Batman Begins and TDK, while still offering a look and feel that is familiar.

It will be hard to top TDK for me, not only because it has Batman's best villain, and was thoroughly entertaining, but because of the absurd level of anticipation created by the viral marketing. That being said, if TDKR can succeed at telling a story where Bruce and Batman come to terms with themselves and their role in Gotham, than it should be a strong conclusion to the best Batman trilogy ever. I'm not sure if TDKR is going to be Best Picture worthy, but the film stands to garner serious technical praise and who knows, maybe the snub in '08 will lead to a BP nomination in '12.

I'm sad to see this franchise end, especially since Nolan is so good at crafting these films, but I look forward to seeing what the next creative team can do with Batman down the road.

And yes, that DC logo is awful and should never have been used to replace the old one. :slap

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Seem like everyone hate new DC logo except me :lol I think it neat and more modern.
