Re: The Dark Knight Rises

They're both fantastical. Not equally.

A tireless, rich, costumed vigilante is inherently more plausible than a flying superhuman alien.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Really good informative posting! What your saying seems like common sense to me....as you say, improbable? Yes. Impossible? No.

Either wat, some people go back and forth about this too much, just enjoy the film and be thankful!

Gotta agree with that as well. :goodpost:

You mean a guy running around in a rubber suit, despite expensive toys and a distinguishable lisp is able to elude capture and identification by both local and federal authorities while fighting crime all by himself and magically dodging bullets. Sure. :lol

Since he can't fly, outrun a bullet, take a gunshot to the eyeball, or spin the earth backward on its axis ... I'm going still to say he beats Superman on plausibility.

Which is more plausible? Don't lie to yourself.

I don't understand your point? :dunno If we are comparing Batman and Kick Ass, they are complete opposites. First and foremost, kick ass doesn't have any training. Do you really think a little girl (even with training) could do this?

If so, I'm sorry. But you need to come back to reality here.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The first half of Kick-Ass is very realistic.

The second half isn't. Big deal. Nam's point still stands.

Super is better then both anyway. :D

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Approaching things in this way would capitalize on the very strong base and audience Nolan built up via his Trilogy, and would invalidate the need for yet another Batman reboot.

It's already being called a reboot. Nolan has already agreed to produce it the same as he is Superman.

All of this, I would only be comfortable with if Nolan was on board - if he was on board, and with his involvement in Superman, i'm sure he could address the integration very effectively. It would probably be best for MoS to effectively start off the 'DCU Reboot' if you will. Batman reboot in 2014 would build on that, but hopefully, not be an origin story, more like Batman 89 where there are some glimpses of his past but we start the film more or less with him established.

Nolan has said from the beginning the story they are writing mimics Batman where the character exists in a vacuum and there will be no references to any other DCU characters. Now, there people claiming that according to Snyder that the "vacuum existence" is no longer the case but we won't really know until we see the film and from what has been leaked it's not only taking liberties on the character but also doing an origin.

If the Batman 2014 stay "reboot" I have no doubts in my mind it'll be a origin story told with a different actor. Honestly I'm about 90% sure that when TDKR finishes that Nolan's trilogy will be left alone and standalone with none it connecting to any of the DCU's filmverses current plans.

But I didn't post the little girl, I just posted the fight with kickass. Stop trying to avoid the validity of my initial point. Even with all the training and a billion dollar budget, Nolan's Batman is impossible in today's world. Hence why there's no real Batman and he's classified as "fiction." :wink1:
