Re: The Dark Knight Rises

This is true. You're the first guy I've seen go toe-to-toe with him and not back down. In fact, he eventually just started posting vague arguments and could not respond to a few of your demands regarding B:TAS. So kudos! Always entertaining to watch! Although the fourth degree burn part of your argument was false. There actually is such a thing and is what kind of burn Two-Face had.

Wrong dude. He was in denial about BTAS's many easter eggs. Leave the Batman debates to those in bigboy pants and go play with your ponies. :wave

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Ummm... That video was lame. I got about two minutes into it. Superman is a joke. I feel like he and Batman should be left in their vacuum worlds and let the rest of the DCU team up. Batman is too underpowered as a human being with fancy toys and Superman is too overpowered being godlike and invincible to all but kryptonite.

And I am happy having gotten a Batman series in a vacuum world all on his own. Bring on the reboot I say. Just keep the DCU out of the stories and only have them team up in JLA movies. I can watch Batman that way and just ignore the rest of the series. Batman and DCU fanboys will both be happy then. :1-1:

thank you. yes, this is exactly what i think,
you said it perfectly, there is no point in having Batman if Superman existed, I never got that

yet you have not once give an example of these easter eggs in the first 85 episodes

Thank you. I loved B:TAS until the fourth season where the animation got bright and simplistic and started including bizarre alien stories and DCU elements. It all felt so wrong to me.

Exactly what I was referring to. Instead of proving his point or admitting he was wrong, he deflected with a comment about my ponies. Like it's meant to hurt my feelings or something. Cute :1-1:

I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings, I was serious. :dunno

And I'm not going to waste my time documenting every episode of BTAS, trying to prove a point to a delusional individual who can't even Google 4th degree burns. If he won't educate himself, I'll let him stew in his own ignorance. :wink1:

Like I said... agree to disagree... or the internets will explode :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

:tap In all fairness, that's not what I was saying at all though. :lol

That's true, and you cleared it up for me a few pages back when I asked what your position was. Others argued that there should've been mentions about the larger DCU within the Nolan Bat-trilogy, but not you.

As for the rest of it--

Thank you Nam, really. Below is a perfect example of what I was talking about when I said you latch any detail you find incorrect and elevate it to derail the focus from the point of the whole argument.

The point of the argument: It is completely plausible for someone with Two-Face's burns to survive.

Detail that you latched onto: I incorrectly said fourth degree burns don't exist.

And here's the kicker: Besides just doing exactly what I said you would---making the highlighting of my wrong detail more important than disproving my overall point(that a human with Two-Face's level of burns could survive)-- you also admitted that the wrongness of my detail was more important than engaging me in the larger argument or providing evidence to support your position (regarding the littering of easter eggs to the larger DCU in the initial 85 episodes.)

But since you like the details so much, where did you get the detail that Two-Face has fourth-degree burns on over 1/2 of his body from? Not even 1/2 of his suit was burned! And how exactly did you diagnose that they are fourth-degree? You a doctor now? The degree of severity is never mentioned in the film or script.

a villain who has fourth degree burns over 1/2 of his body

:slap

Fourth degree burns cause charring of skin and burn muscle tissue and bone. You don't need to be a doctor, you just need to be trained in first aid. Actually, you dont even need that. You could probably find it online or in a science book But I do love the rest of your arguements and even though this fallacy in your arguement will be turned on you and blown out of proportion as already has been the case, I still like your logic on those other things. And unless nam lists all those supposed Easter eggs, I'm gonna go with you winning that arguement.

But that arguement doesnt even really matter. The simple fact of the matter is superheroes don't exist in Nolan's world. They don't exist here, they don't exist there. Amazing and crazy stuff does exist there that couldn't exist here. That includes weird sci-fi gadgets and physics defying stunts. But is that open invitation enough to allow aliens and super powered beings into that universe? James Bond movies have physics defying stunts and some have gagets even stupider than what Batman uses. Would you argue superheroes and aliens should appear in them?

Thank you, I initially googled types of burns, and most of the sites that I found only listed three. After Nam corrected me, I specifically googled "fourth degree burns" and found examples of those. I am perfectly willing to concede that I got that detail wrong...just as I am perfectly willing to defend that a person with Two-Face's burns could live.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

a person with Two-Face's burns could live.

Maybe, but perhaps its the swigging scotch and flipping coins that pushes the believeability alarm (when you stop to think about it).

I have to say, Two Face always stuck out to me in Nolan's world. Never bought that character. A gruesome face is always enjoyable for a villain to have but his was just....cartoonish in a very non-cartoonish, wannabe real world.

Kind of like pushing things too far with multi-heroes; you shouldn't have Superman anywhere near Batman. We all know that Batman is real and Superman is a silly, outdated concept.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I guess some of you would settle with two face just having a big scar on his face. I dont know why you guys want batman to be more realistic.
