I'd be surprised to see a new...but I think this suit's going to stay.

No way. EVERY Batman film to date has had a new suit as well as a new vehicle/gimmick.

I'd be surprised if we didn't see a new one. It's not just about selling toys, it's about improving the Batman suit. The same crew, for the most part have worked on the Batman costume since 1988. The TDK is just that, their 8th attempt. There's always room for improvement. Plus if there isn't one that means the designers are out on a job. What would Day Murch, Graham Churchyard and Lindy Hemming do without a new Bat-Suit?

More practical reasons the suit gets re-designed between films is
a) the wear and tear on the costumes makes using them again a poor option.
b) changes to allow the actor greater comfort and requiring less time to put on/take off

Christian Bale hated the BB suit. It weighed nearly 70 pounds and the head still didn't turn well. Nolan wasn't happy with it either, and TDK suit is much closer to Nolan's original intent. The next suit will probably be a refinement to TDK design that only the eagle eyed fans could spot.

The TDK suit actually weighted more than the Begins suit. Fans have this discussion every time a new Batman film is announced. I remember back in '06 people kept saying, "oh they'll just keep the Begins one, no need to change it."

Then we got this amazing pic,

TDKR won't break that tradition.

Wayne is going to keep refining the needs of the suit, so it really makes more sense for there to be a new suit in DKR than for there not to be.

This is pretty big news, David S. Cohen of Variety is reporting. During a recent sit down with Christopher Nolan, the director revealed that his script for "The Dark Knight Rises", his third and final Batman film, would be due Monday, December 6th (TOMORROW).

(and I think Tom Hardy will be playing a Max Cort / Harvey Bullock type Cop, who is part of a GPD task force aimed at capturing the bat, until he becomes a pawn for Hugo Strange in his attempts to destroy Batman).

I have a feeling Black Mask has a good chance of being a villain. I can also possibly see Arnold Wesker & Scarface probably a small role, but not the main villain?
