Re: The Dark Knight Rises

When it comes to Synder's suggestion vs. Nolan's the WB will side with Nolan anyday of the week.

When it comes to Batman. When you flip in reverse and deal with Superman I think it will really fall the opposite way.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Hopefully. You would have thought Sony/Columbia would have allowed Raimi to do what he wanted but the powers that be shoehorned in Venom into Spider-Man 3 despite his statements on the fact. Originally WB/DC wanted a Clark Kent and Hal Jordan cameo in TDK that were ultimately written out but you never can tell with the Hollywood machine.

I have my doubts they'll force Nolan to do anything but I would have said the same thing back when Spider-Man 3 was announced and Raimi was at the top of his game after the smash blockbuster Spider-Man 2.

Was there ever a demonstration by the studio to suggest faith in Raimi's decisions?

I base my thoughts on Nolan from the interviews with WB execs during the press of TDK asking about future ones and all and the often stated willingness to let Chris do his thing. I think that there's been no pressure about the fact that TDKR will come out 4 years after TDK instead of 3 like TDK from Begins says they're willing to sit and let him do his thing.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I hate you people, who hate Zack.

You say you want substance over style? That mother ____er ADDED substance to the most style over substance comic ever. 300. Watchmen was fine. Dawn of the Dead was pretty good. So I dont get the hate at all.

And besides, Sucker Punch aint some intense drama. It's a movie with dragons, and ____ing NINJA ROBOTS!!!! The ____ you need substance for? :lol It seems like it's a crime to do stupid fun movies now a days. :rolleyes

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Looked straight out of the comic.....only thing he did was slow down the frames to match them up.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The Showbizspy is reporting that "sources" are saying Christopher Nolan is considering using previously unseen footage from Ledgers The Dark Knight Joker performance in the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises.

"The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time,” reveals a movie insider.

“Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker.

“It would only be a fleeting moment in the movie and would only be included with the full consent of Heath’s family.”

Believe it when I see it, but would LOVE to see it.

I would still disagree. They didn't ask Nolan to oversee the project just to be a silent partner. Now in reality I doubt Nolan would interfere, I'm just saying that IMO if it came down to it they'd side with Nolan because it's what he was hired to do.

This story came out a few months ago. Nolan has already said no way.

Not much is known about the latest installment of the Caped Crusador, but one thing is for sure: the Joker will not be making an appearance. "For me, Heath [Ledgar] was the definitive Joker," Nolan said. "It wouldn't feel appropriate to readdress that character."

Talking with Empire, Chris Nolan was asked about Joker in the third Batman film, which will hit theaters July 20th, 2012.

This is what the director had to say:

“No…I just don’t feel comfortable about it.”

Perhaps Nolan meant about recasting the role, but yeah.....don't see it happening. Would be amazing to see though.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah I don't understand all the Snyder hate. I enjoyed 300 and loved Watchmen.

He's in a tough position with this new Superman gig. If it's good, fans will all say it's greatness came from Nolan himself. If it's awful they won't think twice of blaming and spouting ____ in Snyder's direction.

Wouldn't want to be in his shoes.

This is great if it's true. Nolan when asked did give a "No" though. This was a possibility that I always imagined them doing since a recast would be out of the question. I'm sure they have plenty of unused scenes/dialogue/footage of Ledger as the Joker. A few that come to mind is the "I'm a man of my word" scene with Joker in the back of the car with his thugs and a few others. If they revised it it could make for a great "get away" scene. Just change the goon's lines.

That might be why the special features so far (DVD/Blu Ray etc.) have been so Ledger/Joker less. He's the only one that lacks any behind the scenes footage save for a few pics and we all know how Nolan feels about deleted scenes (Though I was static when they included the extended hosipital scene on Blu Ray).

I'm sure it's probably bull____ though. Not buying it. Either way, I think the Joker should have some kind of presence in the film, and this idea would be the one I'd want to see the most.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Would be interesting, my guess would be they'd use CGI to put him in a different environment as none of the TDK locales work without Joker free from jail again. It shouldn't be anything bigger than Scarecrow's TDK appearance, just enough to tie the TDKs together.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

While it would just be a cameo of sorts, I guarantee you that the internet would damn near collapse about it and we'd still get a figure from Hot Toys. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I would be quite ok with it if they did. I loved how Ledger pulled off the Joker.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'd love to see Joker in Arkham or some little shot just so we know what he's up to now.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think it would be best used to close the film, if they could make some sort of escape or implied escape. If this movie does end with things looking good for Batman, Joker escaping would be a nice, no it's not, close to the film and connect the end of begins and TDKR and emphasize how big Joker is in Batman's world to be a threat of some sort in all 3.

I like this idea.

And totally agree that we'd see a HT figure even if Joker appeared for 0.5 seconds:lol

I could definitely see this and that deleted get away scene might be the best way to make it happen. Who knows.

I could just see it, Joker escaping, with "new" thugs after this uplifting speech and optimism in Batman's world. Maybe Batman acknowledging that this is how things will be forever, then cut to . . .

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

accompanied with the music cue that Begins and The Dark Knight had of course.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I like the idea of this. I'm against cgi though. If you do have a scene not used or footage unused I would do that and somehow work it in with cuts. thatd probably look alot better...I'm just having nightmares of CGI arnold in Terminator salvation or Professor x in wolverine origins.

Even like a weird flashback or something could work.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I thought CG Ah-nuld in Terminator Salvation was pretty cool. They didn't do much with the facial animation, but it was a short appearance.
